After the more affordable iPhone 16e, along with new MacBook Air and Mac Studio models equipped with M4 and M3 Ultra chips, Apple still has a lot to look forward to launching this summer.
There are at least three products that Apple fans are hoping will get an upgrade before the summer ends, but of course, nothing is certain.
Smart home control center
Apple is developing a new Home accessory that acts as a command center for its smart home system.
According to Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman, Apple's new smart device will have an iPad-like design and could launch as early as 2025. The Command Center is expected to have a 6- or 7-inch display, an A18 chip, and support for Apple Intelligence. It could be attached to a desk base or mounted on a wall with built-in speakers, Gurman said.
However, Gurman also noted that Apple could delay the launch of this product until later in the year due to the dependence on features that will be available in iOS 18.4 and iOS 19. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo even predicted that this device will not launch before Q2 or Q3 2025.
In February, Gurman also said the launch of the smart home control hub was “still months away.”
Mac Pro
According to Bloomberg , the new Mac Pro will be upgraded in the summer of 2025. It was originally expected to be equipped with the M4 Ultra chip, but Apple's recent launch of the M3 Ultra on the Mac Studio makes that uncertain.
Apple has previously revealed that the M4 Max will not have UltraFusion connectivity, meaning that it won’t be possible to combine two M4 Max chips into an M4 Ultra like they did before. So, barring any changes, the new Mac Pro will likely use the M3 Ultra chip, which Apple claims is the most powerful Mac chip available.
AirTag 2
Apple is planning to release the second-generation AirTag in mid-2025, according to Mark Gurman. However, another leaker has suggested that AirTag 2 could launch as early as May or June this year.
AirTag 2 is said to feature a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, which first appeared on the iPhone 15 series last year. Additionally, to prevent unauthorized tracking, Apple will make the built-in speaker in AirTag harder to remove.
In terms of design, the new AirTag is said to not change much compared to the current version. However, the operating range will likely be extended, allowing the Precision Finding feature to work more accurately even at longer distances.
iOS 19
Apple plans to unveil iOS 19 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2025, but the official release won't be until September, when the iPhone 17 series will be announced.
Recent leaks suggest that iOS 19 development is slowing down as Apple continues to finalize iOS 18 features. This could result in some new features being released incrementally with each update, just like Apple did with iOS 18.
One of the biggest changes is likely to be the Camera app, which has a visionOS-inspired interface. New apps like Invites, Apple Sports, and Apple Playground also have a more modern look, using transparency effects, animated buttons, and content-optimized design.

Apple is also working on a smarter version of Siri that uses a large language model (LLM) to compete with AI chatbots like ChatGPT. However, Mark Gurman said Apple won't announce a new Siri at WWDC 2025; it's unlikely the feature will be available as part of the iOS 19.4 update in March or April next year. Instead, Gurman said some Apple software engineers believe the Siri upgrade won't arrive until at least iOS 20.
In the meantime, iOS 18.5, expected to release in May, brings Siri a number of upgrades like the ability to recognize on-screen content, understand personal context, and gain deeper control over individual apps.
This summer may not be a big Apple product launch season, but users can still expect a new Mac Pro, AirTag 2, and iOS 19. Additionally, a smart home control hub could also appear later this year or early next year.
