In the exciting atmosphere of the Party Committee, government and people in the province about the results achieved after half a term of implementing the Resolution of the 22nd Provincial Party Congress, these days, Yen Khanh people also welcomed another great joy when the bridge over the Day River connecting Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces was deployed for construction.
Bridge of joy
Mr. Pham Van Thanh, Hamlet 3, Khanh Cuong Commune, Yen Khanh District, is working at a steel trading company in Nghia Hung District, Nam Dinh Province. Although the working environment is dynamic and there are many opportunities for personal development, Mr. Thanh has often thought about quitting his job to find another job. The only difficulty he encounters is the problem of transportation.
Mr. Thanh shared: I live in Yen Khanh. Every day I have to go to work via Tam Toa ferry (Khanh Trung commune). The cost of each ferry trip for a car is 30,000 VND, round trip is 60,000 VND, plus lunch, gas, the estimated cost is about 200-300,000 VND/day. Not to mention the days when I have to travel a lot, taking many ferries is very expensive. When I heard that the Day River bridge connecting Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces had been started, I was extremely excited. So we will soon have a new bridge to go to without having to take the ferry every day. This helps me feel secure to do my current job well.
Not only Mr. Thanh, but the bridge over the Day River is a long-standing dream of many people in Yen Khanh district, especially in Khanh Cuong, Khanh Trung and Khanh Cong communes. Therefore, when hearing the news that the bridge was officially under construction, the people here were very happy and excited. Ms. Do Thi Lan, village 19, Khanh Trung commune said: "I often travel by ferry every time I go to Nam Dinh. However, taking the ferry is inconvenient because I have to wait a long time, the ferry operates until about 9 pm, so when there is an urgent matter, it has to be postponed until the next morning. Not to mention, traveling by ferry poses a potential risk to river safety. We hope the bridge will soon be completed and put into use to serve people's lives".
According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Duan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Khanh Trung Commune, the trading of goods and travel between people in Yen Khanh District and other localities in Nam Dinh Province and vice versa is very active. Currently, there are many ferry terminals in operation in the district such as Muoi Ferry (Khanh Thanh Commune), Ba Quan Ferry (Khanh Cuong Commune), Xanh Ferry (Khanh Thien Commune), Khanh Tien Ferry... At Tam Toa Ferry Terminal in Khanh Trung Commune alone, on average, thousands of people and vehicles travel every day. Mostly workers from communes in Nghia Hung District go to companies in Yen Khanh District to work and vice versa. The bridge will help people travel more easily, ensure security, order and safety, and at the same time promote the socio-economic development process in the locality.
Highly focused on the project
The project to build a bridge over the Day River connecting Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces on the Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway is implemented according to Decision No. 17/2022 dated July 28, 2022 of the Prime Minister, decentralizing the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province as the competent authority.
The project has a total investment of VND 1,450 billion. The completion time of the project is December 2024. The project has a total route length of 2 km, passing through Khanh Cuong and Khanh Trung communes in Yen Khanh district (Ninh Binh province) and Nghia Chau, Nghia Trung and Nghia Thai communes in Nghia Hung district (Nam Dinh province). The river overpass section is 1.36 km long, with a cross-section of 19.5 m. The approach road is about 0.64 km long, with a roadbed width of 19 m. The scale includes 4 lanes, with a design speed of 100 km/h.
The leaders of Yen Khanh district said that, realizing the important significance of the project, in the past time, the district has been active and proactive in carrying out the assigned tasks. In particular, the People's Committee of Yen Khanh district organized the handover of the system of markers for site clearance for the project to build a bridge over the Day River connecting Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces. Established a Council for compensation, support and resettlement when the State reclaims land to implement the project. Closely coordinated with departments and branches on price appraisal, declaration and organization of land, property, trees and crops inventory to develop a plan for site clearance compensation. In the coming time, the district will continue to focus on directing, organizing propaganda and mobilizing people to clearly understand the benefits of the project. Thereby creating support and consensus in site clearance work, ensuring project progress. Currently, there are still a few households that have not handed over the site, the district will mobilize people to hand over the site soon in the spirit of voluntariness.
At the recent project implementation ceremony, the leaders of Nam Dinh province also affirmed: In order for the project to be completed soon, serving the people's travel, contributing to creating momentum for socio-economic development of the two provinces, Nam Dinh province continues to direct departments, branches, sectors and localities to closely coordinate with the investor to synchronously carry out site clearance and related procedures during the project implementation process. Require the investor and project contractor to well implement project management, construction supervision, strictly comply with the procedures and processes of basic construction investment; focus on mobilizing all resources, materials, equipment, and have appropriate construction organization measures, ensuring quality, progress and safety.
The project to build a bridge over the Day River connects important traffic routes of the two provinces of Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh, gradually completing the expressway from Ninh Binh to Hai Phong, enhancing intra-regional and inter-regional connectivity in the Red River Delta. When put into use, this bridge will contribute to reducing the load on the existing traffic system, shortening the distance and travel time for traffic participants, creating a driving force for socio-economic development in Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces.
