The highlight of the 16th round of V.League was the match between Hanoi Police Club and Nam Dinh. The match was exciting from the very first minutes. Nam Dinh Club played enthusiastically and created dangerous situations towards the opponent's goal. But they also had to go through heart-stopping moments.
The referee had to consult VAR after Van Kien missed the ball and possibly let it touch his hand in the penalty area. However, they were lucky to escape a penalty. Just a few minutes later, it was Tuan Anh's turn to fall in the penalty area of the Hanoi Police Club, but it was not the red team's defender's fault.
Quang Hai scored a beautiful goal against Nam Dinh.
In the 23rd minute, Nam Dinh FC was denied a goal when Mpande fouled Dinh Trong before shooting into the home team's net. The Ugandan striker pushed the ball away when Dinh Trong did not control the ball well after a pass from Nguyen Filip. However, Mpande did not have to wait too long. In the 37th minute, from a free kick by Hong Duy, Mpande jumped high and headed in a beautiful goal to open the scoring.
Not accepting defeat, Hanoi Police Club pushed forward and soon got what they needed. In the 45th minute, Ngo Duc Huy of Nam Dinh Club failed to clear the ball, Nguyen Quang Hai unleashed a classy one-touch shot in the penalty area to bring the match back to balance.
Entering the second half, the match took place at a very slow pace. There were not many notable plays created by the two teams. Nam Dinh Club no longer pushed up their formation but retreated to defend. Not having many options for the striker position made coach Vu Hong Viet accept to win 1 point.
In the final minutes, Hanoi Police Club had the right to regret two very beautiful missed opportunities by Dinh Bac and Quang Hai. With this draw, Hanoi Police Club only had 22 points, 9 points behind the top team Nam Dinh.
