With its position and role as the driving force for economic development in the western region of Quang Ninh province, Dong Trieu's transport infrastructure is being invested in and completed in the direction of inter-regional and intra-regional connectivity. This is an important condition for Dong Trieu City to shape economic development associated with regional connectivity.
Located at the western gateway of Quang Ninh province and at the intersection of the Northern key economic triangle (Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh) along with the inland waterway and railway traffic system, Dong Trieu city has many roads that play an inter-regional connection role. In which: National Highway 18, National Highway 17B runs through Dong Trieu and connects with Chi Linh city and Kinh Mon town of Hai Duong province; Provincial Road 332 connects Dong Trieu with Hai Duong province via Trieu Bridge; Provincial Road 345 connects with Bac Giang province; Provincial Road 333 connects with Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city via Lai Xuan bridge which is being urgently completed. The advantages of location and traffic system have been creating favorable conditions for Dong Trieu to transport goods, exchange and integrate economically and socially with localities inside and outside the province.
To continue to improve the socio-economic infrastructure of the young city, the province has prioritized investment resources for many important external traffic projects that are significant drivers of development in Dong Trieu City. In particular, the project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 333, in Yen Duc commune, which will be implemented in October, will connect directly with Lai Xuan bridge to form a new gateway for road traffic between Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city. The completed project, when put into use, will not only meet the transportation needs but also open up investment attraction opportunities for the young city of Dong Trieu in the coming time.
Along with Lai Xuan Bridge and Provincial Road 333 that have been constructed, Quang Ninh province is urgently completing investment procedures, clearing land to implement projects: renovating, expanding and upgrading Provincial Road 345 to a 2-lane mountainous grade III road connecting to Provincial Road 293 of Bac Giang province; investing in the construction of Provincial Road 327 to connect the provincial gate with the main axis of Dong Trieu city center and the spiritual route. In particular, the 10-lane riverside road will be completed in the near future, making an important contribution to Dong Trieu city connecting directly with the province's expressway road.
With the existing traffic routes and the traffic routes that will be completed in the near future, not only will the development space be expanded, but it will also contribute significantly to making Dong Trieu truly become the region's freight transit center. This is also one of the advantages for Dong Trieu to attract investment and develop the economy and society.
Mr. Robert Reynolds, General Manager of Dong Trieu Golf Course, said: Along with the natural landscape, the ability to quickly connect to economic centers in the region is also an advantage for choosing to invest in a Golf Course in Dong Trieu. In particular, the traffic routes completed in the near future will continue to reduce travel time from localities in the region: Hai Phong, Hanoi, Bac Giang, Hai Duong and Ha Long to the Golf Course.
Determining that traffic infrastructure must be one step ahead, along with the province's investment in traffic infrastructure projects connecting foreign and inter-regional connections, Dong Trieu also prioritizes allocating resources combined with socialized resources from the people to complete the internal traffic system.
Mr. Le Van Do, Vice Chairman of Dong Trieu City People's Committee, said: On the basis of the traffic infrastructure, the East-West road traffic axis along the 10-lane high-speed riverside road has been formed and planned; the traffic axis connecting historical relic sites and the fishbone road system connecting the North-South connecting the above two traffic axes as well as synchronizing with the traffic routes connecting to neighboring provinces. This is an important condition for Dong Trieu City to shape economic development associated with regional connectivity to realize the planning with 3 approved development spaces for tourism, trade services and industry.
