On October 3, information from Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station (HU Minh) said that they had just rescued 15 fishermen whose boat sank at sea. According to initial information, on the morning of October 2, fishing boat KG 90255-TS departed through Kinh Hoi port (HU Minh) to go out to sea to operate a purse seine fishery, with 15 fishermen on board, led by Mr. Danh Soc Kha (39 years old, residing in An Bien district, Kien Giang).

At about 5:45 p.m. the same day (October 2), when the fishing boat was operating in the sea area about 8 nautical miles northwest of Kinh Hoi estuary, it was sunk by big waves and strong winds.
Receiving a distress signal from the fishing boat in distress, Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station contacted and mobilized 3 fishing boats operating near the location of the sunken fishing boat to assist. At the same time, Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station established a working group with 10 members and mobilized 2 fishing boats and 6 fishermen to go out to sea to search and rescue.
Captain Danh Soc Kha received treatment for his wound by the military doctor.

At around 8:00 p.m. on October 2, fishing boat CM 99102-TS of Mr. Phan Van Khanh (residing in Hamlet 3, Khanh Hoi Commune) rescued 1 fisherman and brought him safely aboard. However, due to big waves and darkness, it was not until around 9:45 p.m. on October 2 that the rescue team of Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station found and rescued the remaining 14 fishermen and brought them ashore for health care.
Among the 15 people in distress, Captain Danh Soc Kha was injured in the leg and received first aid and bandages. Currently, the border guards are also coordinating with the ship owner to complete procedures and case files and hand over the fishermen in distress to their families; at the same time, they will support the ship owner to salvage the sunken ship and bring it ashore for repairs when the weather is favorable.
