On the afternoon of September 5, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost 0-3 to China in the semi-finals of the Asian Championship.

Even though they only sent the B team to Thailand, China still showed their superiority. Not only did they shoot powerfully, the Chinese girls also defended very solidly, scoring many points from successful blocking situations.
In set 1, the white team was continuously in the lead, with a gap of 8-9 points and ended with a 25-13 victory.
The second set played out in a similar fashion. The Vietnamese team chased their opponents for the first 4-5 points before their opponents widened the gap to more than 10 points. Despite their best efforts, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet’s players scored 12 points and lost 12-25.
Vietnam played better in set 3, fighting for every point with the opposing team and at one point leading 8-6. However, China played stubbornly, gradually leveling the gap, then taking the lead and ending the set with a score of 25-22.
With a 3-0 victory, China won a ticket to the final of the 2023 Asian Championship. Meanwhile, Vietnam will play the third-place match against Thailand or Japan.
According to regulations from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the top 3 teams of the 2023 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship will qualify for the 2025 World Championship.
