Lam Dong: Enterprises reflect that land rental prices are too high

On March 15, 2023, speaking with reporters of the Investment Electronic Newspaper - Baodautu.vn , Mr. Dinh Minh Quy, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Business Association, said that many businesses in the province reported that the current land rental price in Lam Dong is too high.
The information reflecting on this issue is compiled by the Provincial Business Association, and recommendations are made to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration, handling, and direction of resolution.
“Currently, the Provincial People's Committee has assigned relevant departments and branches to review and handle the contents that we proposed according to their authority; at the same time, report and propose to the Provincial People's Committee to handle the contents beyond their authority,” said Mr. Quy. According to Mr. Quy, the main issue that businesses are concerned about is that if the land rent is higher than their revenue, how can they “survive”.
At the regular meeting with businesses and investors in February 2024, Thanh Thanh Cong Lam Dong Tourism Co., Ltd. continued to request the Provincial People's Committee to review the land and water surface rental fees at the Love Valley Tourist Area Project. Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and Da Lat City People's Committee to review and, based on current regulations, respond to businesses in writing and report to the Provincial People's Committee.
Previously, on March 4, 2024, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to review and synthesize information on projects that have had decisions on land allocation, land lease, and land use purpose change according to the provisions of the Land Laws of 1993, 2003, 2013 but have not yet determined land prices to calculate land use fees and land rents in the province; difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process and causes; propose solutions and report to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Provincial People's Committee.
