On the afternoon of August 23, the delegation of the Vietnam Women's Union led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, worked with the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the Law on Gender Equality (Legal Equality) 2006 and the province's guiding documents. Working with the delegation were Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women and representatives of the Provincial Women's Union, relevant departments, branches and sectors.

At the conference, members of the monitoring delegation of the Vietnam Women's Union raised a number of questions and requested Thanh Hoa province to clarify a number of contents and results of the implementation of the responsibilities of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the 2006 Law on Gender Equality and the province's guiding documents; integrate gender equality issues in the development and implementation of strategies, planning, and socio-economic development plans of the locality; organize the implementation of measures to promote gender equality in the fields of politics, economics, labor, family, health, education and training, staff training, inspection, examination, supervision, etc.

After listening to the leaders of provincial departments, branches, and sectors, and the Provincial Women's Union discuss and clarify the opinions of the members of the Supervisory Delegation on the contents of the report, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung highly appreciated the attention and support of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union in implementing the 2006 Law on Gender Equality and its guiding documents.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung, Head of the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women, spoke at the meeting.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee identifies gender equality as a regular and continuous task. In recent years, the implementation of the Gender Equality Law and activities to promote gender equality have been seriously and effectively implemented by departments, branches, agencies, units and localities, creating conditions for both men and women to participate and enjoy equality in all areas of social and family life, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the province's political tasks. He also clarified some of the contents raised by the monitoring delegation, and requested relevant departments, branches and units to strictly implement the Central Government's directives on gender equality; develop goals, targets and plans with gender mainstreaming factors in the implementation of national target programs, advise the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women to effectively deploy solutions to implement gender equality targets and tasks in the coming time.

Concluding the meeting, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Minh Huong acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of Thanh Hoa province's activities in implementing the 2006 Law on Gender Equality and its guiding documents in recent times, which were quite complete, methodical, focused and key.

The Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union hopes that the Provincial People's Committee will continue to direct, operate and have a specific implementation roadmap. Pay attention to the two indicators of gender equality in the political field and gender imbalance at birth; pay attention to allocating operating budget and focusing on prioritizing important fields; further promote propaganda work to raise awareness of gender equality work; enhance the responsibility of sectors, especially the role of the judiciary to improve the effectiveness of appraisal of legal documents to contribute to gender equality work; strengthen inter-sectoral coordination, in which the Provincial Women's Union proactively coordinates more actively...
