Here, on the afternoon of November 4, 1972, to avoid the rain of bombs from the American invaders, 8 youth volunteers from Hoang Hoa district and 5 artillery soldiers on duty on Road 20 Quyet Thang had to take temporary shelter in a cave. The bomb destroyed the road and caused a large rock to fall down, blocking the cave entrance.

During the following 9 days and nights, although teammates tried everything to rescue them, the rock was too big... In 1996, the cave was split in half, and their remains were exhumed and buried.
