On the morning of June 26, General Director of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Duong Quyet Thang and the working delegation had a working session with the Standing Committee of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee on policy credit and the implementation results of Directive No. 40-CT/TW, dated November 22, 2014 of the Central Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit in Dak Lak province.

The report at the working session said that in recent times, Dak Lak province has focused on directing and effectively implementing the Party and State's policies and guidelines on social credit, contributing to effectively implementing the goals and tasks of sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction, human resource development, ensuring social security, political stability, national defense and security, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the province.

To date, the total policy credit capital has reached nearly 7,947 billion VND, an increase of nearly 569 billion VND compared to the end of 2023 and an increase of more than 4,915 billion VND compared to 2014. In the first 6 months of 2024, 33,723 poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries have received loans with a total amount of nearly 1,561 billion VND. Outstanding policy credit in the province currently reaches more than 7,890.4 billion VND, an increase of more than 534.5 billion VND compared to the end of 2023 (growth rate of 7.27%) with over 173,000 customers with outstanding debt. Overdue debt and frozen debt is more than 8.3 billion VND, accounting for 0.11%; There are 2 districts, 108/184 communes, 578/691 commune-level unions, 3,926/4,056 Savings and Loan Groups with no overdue debt.
Since Directive No. 40-CT/TW was issued, the local budget capital has been transferred to nearly 386 billion VND. The total outstanding debt of policy credit programs increased by more than 4,888 billion VND compared to 2014, with an average outstanding debt of nearly 46 million VND/household, an increase of 28 million VND compared to 2014.

Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province always pay attention to this field, at the same time, the Social Policy Bank system has operated effectively, bringing capital to the poor and policy beneficiaries. On the basis of recognizing the difficulties and shortcomings, the locality will continue to pay attention and demonstrate responsibility to the people through policy credit, supplementing budget capital to the Social Policy Bank so that people can access capital conveniently.

Speaking at the meeting, General Director of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Duong Quyet Thang acknowledged and highly appreciated the results that Dak Lak province has achieved in the process of implementing social policy credit in the locality. At the same time, he emphasized that the Bank for Social Policies is a superior and humane model, demonstrating the Party and State's concern for poor households and disadvantaged people. In the coming time, the Central Government will accompany the locality to effectively develop and implement the overall project on social policy credit to continue to spread the Party and State's policies and guidelines, making an important contribution to poverty reduction and ensuring social security in the locality.
