"The goal against Cambodia came from two reasons. First, the goalkeeper did not choose his position well and retreated to close the angle. Next, the pressure from the defensive players on the opponent was not good. The coaching staff pointed out the problems that need to be fixed. The players need to limit mistakes in the next matches," Nguyen Dinh Trieu shared during the training session on the afternoon of March 22 of the Vietnam team.

After the friendly match with Laos, the Vietnamese team will enter the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. The first opponent of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team is Laos. In the interview, Dinh Trieu also revealed the preparations of the Vietnamese team.
"The victory over Cambodia is a good step forward for the match against Laos. The whole team had a relaxing training session on March 21. The players who have not played will practice harder. Today (March 22) is the official training session. All players are determined to promote the good things they did against Cambodia and limit the bad points. Tomorrow will be the dissection session for the match between Laos and Sri Lanka," said the 33-year-old goalkeeper.
In addition, Dinh Trieu highly appreciated the strength of the Laos team: "We don't have much information about the Laos team except that Laos has naturalized 3 more players. The whole team will study more to limit the opponent's strengths."
