On March 21, at the latest Cage Warriors event, Congolese MMA fighter Yannick Bahati made the entire stadium explode when he delivered a lightning-fast knockout, knocking out his Australian opponent Charles Joyner in just 4 seconds - the fastest in the tournament's history in a light heavyweight match.
From the first bell, Bahati did not hesitate. He stepped forward, grabbed Joyner’s lead hand, and delivered a devastating back-right hand—which sent his opponent crashing like a tree. Joyner was knocked unconscious and fell to the mat, forcing the referee to immediately intervene to stop further strikes from Bahati.
To a roar of cheers, Bahati—nicknamed “Black Mamba”—leaped to the top of the cage, screaming in triumph. It wasn’t just a punch, it was a declaration.
Bahati and Joyner previously contested a controversial draw at Cage Warriors 181 last November. That bout ended in a controversial split decision. But this time, there was no need for a judge. Bahati put an end to all doubts in one moment—quick and decisive.
The victory also ended the 35-year-old's haunting four-match winless streak, marking a strong comeback after a period when he seemed to have lost himself.

Immediately after the match, Bahati looked straight at the commentary box, sending a challenge to the big opponents in the weight class: “I want to fight for the championship. James Webb, Andy Clamp - anyone. As long as I have the belt on my shoulders.”
Not stopping there, Bahati also proudly mentioned his achievement of surpassing his famous colleague - Leon Edwards, former UFC welterweight champion, who took 8 seconds to defeat opponent Seth Baczynski in 2015. Bahati only needed half that time - literally "fast as a storm".
For those who have followed Bahati, the victory means more than just one fight. After leaving Bellator and the EFC, the Congolese fell into a downward spiral, winning just one of his eight fights. Notably, he was choked out in less than two minutes by current UFC champion Dricus Du Plessis in 2017.
But the “Black Mamba” did not back down. He trained quietly, returned and… blew away all doubts in just 4 seconds. Yannick Bahati was back - and this time, perhaps no one could stop him from reaching his dream of becoming a champion. “This is my moment. I want the belt. And I am ready,” Bahati declared fiercely.
Cage Warriors now have a new nightmare called “Black Mamba”. And that storm punch will be remembered for a long time in the world of MMA.
