After more than 2 years of construction, the Dong Nai riverside road connecting Hoa An bridge (Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai) to Vinh Cuu district is gradually being completed, bringing a new look to Bien Hoa city.

The Dong Nai riverside road is 5.2km long, with a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND, and was started at the end of December 2021. This includes the investment project to build a riverbank embankment with a cost of more than 600 billion VND.
According to VietNamNet, in late February 2024, workers at the construction site along the Dong Nai River were still rolling the roadbed, grading crushed stone, drilling bored piles, driving riverbank embankment piles, installing railings,... |
A resident has not yet relocated and handed over the site to the construction unit. |
However, up to now, the land for handover of the Dong Nai riverside road construction has reached 79%, the construction progress has reached 57%. The main reason for the project's delay is due to the land clearance work, many generations in a family living on the land have requested additional resettlement quotas.
According to the design, the road is 34m wide, with each side sidewalk being 5m wide, and the road surface and median strip being 24m wide. Up to now, many sections have completed the drainage system, and some sections have completed the asphalt, electricity and water. |
To implement the project, Bien Hoa City has reclaimed a total area of 20.2 hectares from 545 households and 12 organizations, of which 274 households were completely cleared. Up to now, the compensation and site clearance support plan has been approved for 538 households and 12 organizations with an area of 15.66/16.19 hectares, with a total cost of about 816 billion VND. Currently, 462 households and organizations have been paid about 685 billion VND. There are still 7 households that have not approved the compensation and support plan with an area of about 0.53 hectares, costing about 9 billion VND. |
Mr. Nguyen Ton Trong, Director of Bien Hoa Project Management Board, the investor, said that the project is facing difficulties because some residents do not agree to relocate. In addition, there is still no resettlement area so it is not possible to relocate households. "There is still a 5-month temporary residence policy for affected households, but if temporary residence is too long or if a family of 5-7 people moves out to rent a place, they will not agree," said Mr. Trong. |
A section of road has been paved and railings have been installed along the river embankment. |
The Dong Nai riverside route not only helps solve traffic congestion but also contributes to promoting socio-economic development in the area, creating an urban landscape highlight for Bien Hoa city and improving the quality of life for people.
Workers are completing the electrical and water systems. |
According to the plan, the entire site will be handed over in the first quarter of 2024, the construction unit of the 5.2 km long Dong Nai riverside road project will be completed in the third quarter and the riverside embankment construction project will be completed in the second quarter.
