(i) The Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction, and the Lao people would like to express their deepest condolences upon hearing the news that Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, passed away on July 19, 2024.
With the passing of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, the Party, the State and the Vietnamese people have lost a steadfast revolutionary leader. Throughout his life of revolutionary activities, Comrade devoted all his efforts and intelligence to important tasks in the cause of national liberation, national reunification and the renovation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, especially the work of building and rectifying a strong and clean Party, as well as the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity, bringing Vietnam to continuous development, and significantly enhancing Vietnam's position in the international and regional arenas. Comrade has become an outstanding leader of the times.
With the passing of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, the Lao Party, State and people have lost a very close and dear comrade.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is a revolutionary leader in the new era, the successor of President Ho Chi Minh, making a great, valuable and important contribution to strengthening and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Laos - Vietnam, Vietnam - Laos over the past time.

Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is a staunch Marxist and a great leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people. He has devoted his whole life to the cause of the Party and the State of Vietnam, making outstanding contributions to the cause of renovation and the cause of building socialism in Vietnam as well as the socialist movement in the world.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is a close comrade and sincere friend of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people. He has inherited and promoted the traditional friendship of "both comrades and brothers" between the two Parties and the two countries of China and Vietnam, forging a deep friendship with the Communist Party of China and the Chinese leaders. Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, together with General Secretary Xi Jinping, elevated the China-Vietnam relationship to a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, promoting the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam to continuously move forward. I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, on July 19, 2024.
The passing of the General Secretary is a great loss to the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and more importantly, to the entire Vietnamese people. The legacy of the General Secretary, a wise leader who devoted his entire life to the struggle for Vietnam’s independence and for the peace and prosperity of the Vietnamese people, will be remembered by many future generations.
Under the leadership of Comrade General Secretary, Comrade General Secretary has consolidated the strong fraternal friendship with Cambodia and persistently made efforts over the years to enhance close cooperation not only between the Cambodian People's Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, but also between the two Governments and peoples of our two countries.
