Relocating and cutting down 185 trees to implement the connection project for metro line 1

The trees proposed for permission to be cut down and moved belong to the green area of ​​Vo Nguyen Giap Street in the area along Rach Da Do Canal, the green area of ​​Vo Nguyen Giap Street in the BOO area, the green area of ​​Cat Lai intersection, and the green area of ​​the parallel road on the right side of Vo Nguyen Giap Street.

The People's Committee of Thu Duc City (HCMC) has just granted a permit to cut down and relocate trees to the Public Transport Management Center to implement the project on accessibility and connection of bus routes with stations on Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien). Of which, 37 trees will be cut down and 148 trees will be relocated.

Ho Chi Minh City prepares to construct a project to access and connect bus routes with Metro Station No. 1

Previously, in order to serve the construction of Metro Line 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong), the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board (MAUR) notified relevant units about the commencement of the tree relocation package of this metro line construction project.

According to MAUR, a total of 453 existing trees are affected by the metro line 2 project. Of these, 449 are managed by the Ho Chi Minh City Technical Infrastructure Management Center. The remaining 4 trees are managed by District 10.

The 453 affected trees include Lagerstroemia, Indian laurel, Indian laurel, Indian laurel, Indian laurel, Indian laurel, Indian laurel, Indian laurel, Indian laurel, Indian laurel, and Indian laurel.

MAUR said that underground stations of Metro Line 2 are constructed in densely populated areas. Therefore, within the station area and adjacent to the station boundary, there are many existing underground and above-ground technical infrastructure works, including green tree systems.
