Proposal to expel former department director in Gia Lai from the Party

On February 5, the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee held a conference to resolve matters under its authority, including voting on disciplinary action against Party member Nguyen Tu Son, former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai Province.

At this conference, the Gia Lai Provincial Party Executive Committee voted unanimously to propose that the Central Party Secretariat discipline party member Nguyen Tu Son, former director of the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Education and Training, by expelling him from the Party.

Previously, in November 2023, the People's Procuracy of Gia Lai province issued an indictment to prosecute Nguyen Tu Son for the crime of "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences" related to the project of purchasing digital equipment and software at the Department of Education and Training.

In the same case, Mr. Truong Quy Suu, former Head of the Planning and Finance Department of the Department of Education and Training, was prosecuted for "Violating regulations on management and use of state assets, causing loss and waste".

Previously, Giao Thong Newspaper reported that in June 2022, Gia Lai Provincial Inspectorate inspected and concluded the inspection of investment projects and procurement of information technology application software in activities at the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province in the period of 2015 - 2021, showing many violations by individuals and groups of this department.

The violations were transferred to the investigation agency to clarify the signs of crime, including the role of Mr. Truong Quy Suu and the role of the leader for Mr. Nguyen Tu Son.

In October 2023, the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee determined that, in his role as Director of the Department of Education and Training, from April 2018 to October 2020, Mr. Son had violations and shortcomings in implementing Party regulations and State laws on project procurement and management and use of software at the department. The Provincial Party Committee decided to issue a disciplinary warning to Mr. Son.
