The Ministry of Public Security has issued a training plan and demonstrated the 2025 competency assessment exam with many new points.

This structure is different from previous years, when candidates were given the choice of one of two exam codes, CA1 or CA2. The multiple choice part of the two codes is the same, testing knowledge of natural sciences, social sciences and foreign languages. The essay part of CA1 is Math, while CA2 is Literature.
The exam consists of three parts: mandatory essay, mandatory multiple choice, and optional multiple choice. Candidates take the written exam in 180 minutes, with a total score of 100.
The required essay section includes one social argument with a maximum total score of 25.
The mandatory multiple choice test includes 35 Math questions (35 points), 10 History questions (10 points), and 20 Foreign Language questions (15 points).
The optional multiple choice test has 15 questions (15 points). Candidates choose one of the following subjects: Physics (CA1), Chemistry (CA2), Biology (CA3), Geography (CA4).
70% of the knowledge of the two multiple choice sections is at the 12th grade level, the rest is knowledge from grades 10 and 11. Questions at the recognition and comprehension level account for 30%, application level accounts for 50%, and the rest is high-level application.
From 2022, the Ministry of Public Security will organize an assessment exam combined with high school graduation exam scores to enroll students in schools in the police sector. The scoring formula for previous years is as follows:
Admission score = Total score of three graduation exams *2/5 + Assessment score *3/5 + Priority points according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training + Bonus points for excellent students at the national level. Last year, 8 police schools recruited 2,150 students but there were 18,000 candidates taking the exam. The highest standard score according to the above formula is 25.52.
