As the new rainy and stormy season is approaching, Ky Anh Town (Ha Tinh) is focusing on speeding up construction progress to ensure safety and quality, especially for important projects that are vulnerable to natural disasters.
These days, the joint venture of contractors Vietnam Agricultural Construction Corporation - JSC, Construction Joint Stock Company No. 5 and Tu Lap Construction Company Limited is mobilizing maximum human resources and machinery to speed up the construction progress of package KA-PW-07 (wastewater collection system) under the project of Integrated Development of Dynamic Cities - Ky Anh Urban Sub-project.
Contractors mobilized workers and machinery to restore the sidewalk surface after constructing a waste collection system in Hung Tri ward.
Because the construction items are sensitive to storms and floods, affecting people's lives when heavy rain occurs, an atmosphere of competition in labor and speeding up progress is taking place throughout Hung Tri, Ky Hoa, Ky Trinh wards...
Urgently re-pave the sidewalk to limit the impact on the lives of Ky Trinh residents when floods come.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Thuan - an officer of the Ky Anh Town Construction Project Management Board said: "The construction of the wastewater collection system is mainly in urban areas while the density of people and vehicles participating in traffic is high, affecting the environment and construction progress. After 20 months of construction, this contract package with a contract value of 381 billion VND has completed about 60% of the volume, expected to finish on schedule (end of December 2024). The investor is urging contractors and related units to remove obstacles in the site, overcome difficulties to speed up the construction progress as well as ensure safety and quality for the project. Thereby, to collect, drain water, limit flooding in the upcoming rainy and stormy season, even when the project is not completed yet".

In particular, we are focusing on completing as soon as possible 40 concrete bored piles in the middle of the river, making main piers, casting 48 beams and preparing response plans in case of natural disasters. In addition to speeding up the progress, the unit also always focuses on the quality of the project, carefully checking and preserving materials...".
The Wastewater Treatment Plant project with a construction value of over 75 billion VND, which started construction 1 month ago, is under urgent construction.
The Dynamic Urban Development Project - Ky Anh Urban Sub-project has a total investment of 1,239 billion VND, implemented from WB loans, implemented in many wards and communes of Ky Anh town and partly in Ky Chau commune of Ky Anh district. This large project has 7 construction packages, started in August 2021, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Head of Ky Anh Town Construction Project Management Board Nguyen Quoc Hiep said: “The bid packages are being urgently constructed, with the cumulative value of implementation up to now estimated at about 510 billion VND, including many bid packages with good progress such as the Thuy Son Lake upgrade and renovation package which has been completed, the urban center connection road package from Km0 - Km2 which is 85% completed, the embankment packages combined with roads on both sides of the Tri River which are 87% complete... To ensure safety before the storm season, we closely coordinate with relevant sectors and localities to remove obstacles, especially regarding the site and urge and direct contractors to take advantage of favorable weather to speed up construction progress; in which, focusing on works and items that are easily affected by the weather, minimizing damage and impacts caused by storms and rains”.
The urban center connecting road from Km0-Km2 with an investment of nearly 118 billion VND, constructed by a joint venture between Hung Cuong Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company and Dai Hiep Company Limited, has reached 85% of the volume.
The Ky Ninh Sea Tourist Square Project has a construction scale of 49,000 m2 , with a total investment of nearly 113 billion VND, and is also in the construction phase of locations vulnerable to storms and high tides. To ensure safety before the storm season, the two contractors, Truong Thanh Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company and 68 Ha Tinh Construction Joint Stock Company, have focused on overcoming difficulties, mobilizing capital, mobilizing human resources and machinery to speed up the progress of site leveling and main items located close to the coast such as embankments, perimeter roads, drainage ditches, etc. After more than 8 months of construction, the project has reached about 50% of the total construction volume, striving to complete and hand over on schedule (August 2024); in the immediate future, ensuring to minimize the impact of storms and high tides during construction.

According to Nguyen Quoc Hiep, Head of Ky Anh Town Construction Project Management Board, there are currently about 150 small to large construction investment projects under construction in Ky Anh Town with a total value of thousands of billions of VND, including 20 medium and large-scale projects. Because many projects are under construction, large-scale, located in areas often affected by storms, high tides, and high risk of natural disasters, ensuring safety is always the top priority of investors.
Accordingly, at this time, at all construction sites, projects, and construction units, disaster prevention plans have been developed, and specific response plans have been planned for each possible bad situation, thoroughly implementing the motto "Prevention is key, response must be timely, and the 4 on-site principles must be ensured" to ensure safety in construction, quality, and aesthetics; and minimize damage (if any) to people and property of the State, people, and businesses.
