Promote cooperation and linkage with enterprises for "dual" training

According to Master Tran Van Tu, in recent times, the school has increased cooperation with businesses to provide “dual” training. Specifically, the school has signed cooperation agreements with many businesses in the fields that the school has training majors to create conditions for lecturers and students to both study and practice at the school and regularly go to practice and work at businesses. In particular, in some subjects, students study entirely at businesses.

“Depending on the profession, the school builds a training program with 55-70% of the time spent on practice and internship at school and businesses,” added Master Tu.

Dr. Nguyen Dang An Long, Vice Principal of the school, said that in the coming time, the unit will continue to maintain its position in training human resources with solid knowledge and proficient skills. "In particular, strengthening the connection with businesses, promoting "dual" training, internships of lecturers and students, especially paid internships at businesses", Dr. An Long emphasized.

According to Master Tu, the school's facilities are always fully invested and modern, meeting the training needs and approaching the practical needs of businesses. Thereby, the training and practice at the school are also similar to the practice at businesses.

“Every year, the school spends about 5-10 billion VND to complete facilities and invest in modern equipment for practical training such as: specialized rooms for foreign language learning, accounting practice rooms, banking and finance practice rooms, logistics practice rooms, computer rooms, digital libraries…”, the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics informed.

Strengthening international cooperation

With the goal of focusing on international cooperation, Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics has been promoting international cooperation and exchange activities in the fields of teaching and research exchange.

In recent years, students have had the opportunity to interact with international friends through short-term training courses, academic exchange programs, and international exchanges.

To date, the school has established cooperative relationships with 20 universities, colleges, and research institutes in countries in the region on student and lecturer exchanges in training and research cooperation.

“The school has developed its training program to 18 majors, increased its training scale to a much higher level than before and achieved more than 2,800 college targets, enrolling more than 2,900 college students/course,” added Master Tu.

The unit is recognized to meet the educational quality assessment standards according to the assessment criteria of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; recognized to meet the vocational education quality assessment standards, and to meet the quality assessment standards of many training programs such as: tour guide, logistics, accounting, finance - banking, hotel management.
