On March 30, the leader of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that he had received information about a series of antiques related to the Nguyen Dynasty kings and royal family that will be auctioned in France, scheduled for April 26.

According to this leader, information from the auction house shows that there are very valuable items related to the lives of kings such as Ham Nghi, Khai Dinh, Bao Dai, Kien Phuc and the Center for Monuments Conservation is monitoring information about this auction.

Specifically, according to information from the Drouot auction house, this collection has more than 270 items including gold medals, cards, medals, gold coins, royal decrees... related to the hierarchy of mandarins in the royal court, items given by the king to the courtiers and French ambassadors in Vietnam.

Among these is a sword with information inscribed as a gift from King Ham Nghi to General Brière de l'Isle, Commander-in-Chief of the French expeditionary force in Vietnam, later Governor of Senegal) in 1885.

The sword is 97.5cm long, the blade is 70cm long, the hilt is made of silver and has a tiger's head carved on it. The handle is made of ivory and has delicate floral motifs carved on it. The scabbard is made of wood and is inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The end of the scabbard is silver and has a dragon carving on it.

The sword was auctioned with a red paper decorated with dragons playing with clouds, placed in a bamboo box, said to have been written by King Ham Nghi himself.

According to information from auction house Drouot, the starting price of this sword is 3,000 - 3,5000 Euro.

Another valuable item auctioned in this round is the gold medallion studded with pearls and diamonds of King Khai Dinh.

The golden plaque was worn by King Khai Dinh during major royal ceremonies or foreign trips. The starting price of the golden plaque is 80,000 - 120,000 Euro.

In addition, a number of other valuable items will also be auctioned, including the jade plaque of King Khai Dinh, a series of gold plaques, jade plaques, and jade pendants of members of the Nguyen Dynasty Royal Family, such as the jade plaque of Queen Nam Phuong, the gold plaque of Crown Prince Bao Long (son of King Bao Dai), and the golden plaque of King Kien Phuc given to Mr. Félix Faure, later President of the French Republic.
