Paintings of women by famous artist Le Pho range from 780,000 HKD to 4.8 million HKD in Sotheby's auctions.

The painting depicts two women wearing traditional Vietnamese traditional dresses and headdresses, one of whom is leaning on a traditional embroidered pillow and holding a letter. According to the auction house, the artist used contrasting red and black tones to create a sense of balance in the composition.


According to Sotheby's , Findlay is the peak of Le Pho's career, named after Wally Findlay, the gallery that represented him and Vu Cao Dam from 1963 onwards. This series of works by the artist has a vivid color palette, oil on large canvas.


Using ink and color on silk, the artist depicts two children with similar appearances studying together. Children are one of the familiar subjects in his works. The artist has held two solo exhibitions on this theme: Mai Thu's Children (1964) and The poetic world of Mai Thu (1980).

Women are also a familiar subject of the famous artist. In his paintings, they are often tall and thin, wearing ao dai, with their hair in a bun or loose, expressing gentleness.
