With the desire to create a playground for table tennis athletes in the whole province, in June 2019, Ha Tinh Newspaper coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Thanh Dong Table Tennis Club to organize the first Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Table Tennis Tournament.
The 2019 Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Table Tennis Tournament attracted more than 90 athletes to compete.
Although it was the first time the tournament was held, it attracted nearly 90 male players in many age groups from grassroots table tennis clubs across the province such as: Thanh Dong 1, Thanh Dong 2, Thanh Dong 3, Nguyen Du Table Tennis Club (Ha Tinh City), Duc Tho District Table Tennis Club, Formosa Table Tennis Club...
The 2019 Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Table Tennis Tournament attracted a large number of fans to watch.
The athletes competed enthusiastically and passionately with a spirit of solidarity and friendly exchange. Notably, this was the first time the tournament was organized with a ranking format according to the Vietnam Table Tennis Forum, which was managed quite methodically by the Organizing Committee with high professional quality.
In July 2020, the 2nd Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament continued to be held with a jump in the number of participating clubs and athletes, with more than 150 male and female athletes from 18 table tennis clubs across the province.

In 2021, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament was interrupted. In 2022, the pandemic was controlled, although there were still many difficulties and challenges, Ha Tinh Newspaper, together with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, made efforts and determined to bring the 3rd Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament back to fans.
The 3rd Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament witnessed a record number of 200 athletes from 26 table tennis clubs across the province participating.
Taking place over 2 days (July 15-17), the exciting football matches immediately became spiritual food for the people of Ha Tinh after a period of fighting the epidemic. The matches attracted a large number of fans to watch live as well as through the media channels of Ha Tinh Newspaper.
In addition to familiar faces, the 3rd Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament also had the participation of clubs participating in the tournament for the first time such as Vu Quang Table Tennis Club, Phan Family Club. These clubs competed quite successfully, contributing to making the atmosphere of the season more exciting.

The record number of more than 200 athletes from 26 table tennis clubs across the province is the clearest proof of the success of the tournament. The 2022 tournament also witnessed the extremely high professional quality of the athletes and clubs.
Following that success, the 2023 Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament will kick off from June 16-18 with 6 competitions. Up to this point, the final preparations for medical care, referees and staff on duty at the tournament have basically been completed. Conditions for organizing the tournament at the stadium such as electricity, air conditioning system, and lighting are guaranteed. The spacious competition field is equipped with 8 sets of table tennis tables (including nets, ball guards), and standard competition balls according to regulations.
The 2023 Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament will officially start from June 15-18 with 6 competition events.
Mr. Nguyen Hung Son - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ha Tinh Newspaper, Head of the tournament's Organizing Committee said: "Currently, the Organizing Committee is reviewing the information of the athlete delegations to conduct the draw to divide the groups, and develop a competition plan according to the issued regulations. With careful and thoughtful preparation, the Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament is ready for the opening day, waiting for highly professional matches and fierce competitions of the athletes".
Conditions and principles for registration for the Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament 2023 - Athletes of table tennis clubs operating in the province, individuals participating in these clubs must have a registered residence in Ha Tinh or be living and working in Ha Tinh with a temporary residence of 6 months or more and be a member of that club. The clubs must have a decision to establish and be confirmed by the locality where the club is operating. - Each athlete may not participate in more than 2 events (not including team events). - Athletes of any age can only compete in that age group. - Each athlete can only compete for 1 team until the end of the tournament. - Teams are proactive and responsible for the health and other related issues of their club's athletes when participating in the tournament. - The registration list must be typed, confirmed by the club representative and the locality where the club is operating. The list must be sent to the Department of Sports Management - Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh, no later than June 13, 2023. The Organizing Committee will not accept late or invalid registrations. - Deadline for final competition list is June 13, 2023. See registration form here . |
