He is known to everyone as a cultural researcher and a compiler of Party history books in communes, but in addition to being involved in the cultural sector, because of his love for journalism, he often collaborates with newspapers in and outside the province. He is Le Khac Tue - an enthusiastic person in the "field of words".
Mr. Le Khac Tue, enthusiastic contributor of Thanh Hoa Newspaper.
After peace was restored in the North, in 1956, Thanh Hoa Radio Station officially came into operation. The Radio Station has a large wire and loudspeaker system located in Thanh Hoa town, managed by the Information Department of the Provincial Administrative Committee, with the task of relaying the Voice of Vietnam Radio Station and broadcasting news programs in the province.
Thanh Hoa's task at that time was to continue promoting socialist transformation, strengthening new production relations including the establishment of low-level agricultural cooperatives; promoting agricultural and handicraft production, basic construction of transportation, commerce to serve production and people's lives and national defense, developing culture, education, health care... and Party building work.
Mr. Le Khac Tue recalled: "In 1960, I wrote a letter to the Information Department, Provincial Administrative Committee asking to cooperate with the Provincial Radio Station, mainly to reflect news of the cooperative movement and promote local production.
As he spoke, he handed us a letter from the Information Department of the Provincial Administrative Committee sent to him in 1960: "Dear Comrade Le Tue. We have received two messages from you. We have included them in the daily broadcast of the Provincial Radio Station. You should find every way to grasp the issue more deeply, and record good examples. For example, among the more than 1,000 militiamen who went to build the embankment, why weren't there comrades... To avoid general news, we need to find data, events, and images that speak to the spirit of striving and overcoming difficulties of each individual or the whole unit, the whole movement."
Since this letter, he has been researching ways to approach the problem and the timeliness of each news and article. Therefore, on October 10, 1960, he received an invitation to attend a meeting on promoting ideas about writing news in the Winter-Spring crop of 1960-1961 organized by the Information Department.
In August 1961, the Information Department published the Gio Dai Phong newspaper, 2 pages of 26cm x 19cm. This was the period when the whole country carried out the emulation movement, catching up with and surpassing the Dai Phong Agricultural Cooperative of Quang Binh province. Realizing that, all of his articles sent to Gio Dai Phong newspaper were published and excerpted.
One of the few Gio Dai Phong newspapers still preserved by Mr. Le Khac Tue.
On March 20, 1962, Thanh Hoa Doi Moi Newspaper (now Thanh Hoa Newspaper) was born. From the very first days, Mr. Le Khac Tue had sent news and articles to the newspaper. Those short news lines at that time were a source of encouragement for him to strive and have a long journey associated with the writing profession. Although a lot of time has passed, he still keeps the letter: The editorial board of Thanh Hoa Doi Moi Newspaper respectfully sends to you Le Tue, Vinh Hung, Vinh Loc. The editorial board of Thanh Hoa Doi Moi Newspaper has received your articles, paintings, photos, and poems. We would like to send you a month of Thanh Hoa Doi Moi Newspaper, starting from issue 55 published on Tuesday (September 25, 1962). "They gave me the newspaper because they wanted me to learn how to write news, and wanted my news and articles to be of good quality," Mr. Tue added.
The editorial office of Thanh Hoa Doi Moi Newspaper sent a letter to Mr. Tue.
After that period, he transferred to Ha Tinh to work at the office of the Propaganda Department of the Ky Anh District Party Committee. Here, he collaborated with Ha Tinh Newspaper under the pen names: Le Khac Tue, Le Thanh Ha, Thanh Ha. In addition, he wrote articles for Nhan Dan Newspaper, Quan Doi Nhan Dan Newspaper, Quan Khu 4 Newspaper and several other newspapers. To this day, he still clearly remembers two articles. One is the article "Mother of Ky Anh Sea Country" published in Nhan Dan Newspaper on November 22, 1968. The character in the article is mother Ha Thi Ruong from Ky Phu Commune, Ky Anh District, Ha Tinh Province. Mother volunteered to join the militia platoon of Long Son Hai Village (now Phu Long Village), Ky Phu Commune, to patrol, guard and participate in resolving incidents after each time American planes bombed the village. For more than 3 years, regardless of the cold winter nights, howling winds and rough seas, mother and her fellow militiamen guarded the sea of their homeland. The second article about Nguyen Van Hoc was published in Chinh Nghia newspaper (now Nguoi Catholic newspaper). As a person who worked as a janitor and nurse for 15 years at Hoa Loc parish (now Ky Trinh ward, Ky Anh town), he was always attentive to everyone, giving clear instructions on each type of medicine. Both articles were read by President Ho Chi Minh and he awarded badges to the two characters above.
In April 1972, he officially transferred to Thanh Hoa, working at the Culture Department of Vinh Loc district. “From 1972 until now, more than half a century, there were periods when I wrote quite a lot of news articles for Thanh Hoa Newspaper, but there were also periods when I wrote very little, partly due to the changes in the operating mechanism of Thanh Hoa Newspaper from time to time. But whenever there was a need for news or articles... I was always ready to do it right away. In addition to regularly collaborating in writing news and articles for the newspaper, I also helped Thanh Hoa Newspaper reporters whenever they returned to Vinh Loc district for work, such as providing documents, taking them to the base, creating good conditions for reporters to complete their tasks.”
A poem by Mr. Le Khac Tue printed in Thanh Hoa Newspaper, 1972.
Over 80 years old, his hair has turned grey. In his office, in addition to books and research documents, he has a separate corner for the newspapers he has contributed to. Among them are many volumes of Thanh Hoa Newspaper from more than half a century ago, neatly arranged by him.
Many newspapers, although worn and torn, are always carefully preserved by Mr. Le Khac Tue.
Journalism is not only a memory for Mr. Le Khac Tue, it is also his passion and his soaring happiness. That feeling anchors him to cherish every page of the newspaper. "For the past 62 years, I have always been a small friend of Thanh Hoa newspaper. Sometimes it is just short news, sometimes it is a whole cultural research article... but in general, I am loyal to the writing profession, to the press agencies of the province, and most of all, I am happy with every word," Mr. Le Khac Tue shared.
