Artist Duc Trung is one of the oldest artists to be awarded the title of People's Artist this time, at the age of 84. People's Artist Le Duc Trung was born in 1939, before coming to the stage he was a soldier. He spent 20 years in the army and 5 years working at Truong Son. He was one of the veteran actors working at the Youth Theater in the early period.
On stage, he was always assigned positive roles, with neatness and dignity, especially the task of portraying the image of President Ho Chi Minh. People's Artist Le Duc Trung has portrayed the image of Uncle Ho three times in three different genres: drama (the play History and Witnesses), musical and ballet (the play Melody of May) and television series (Uncle Ho lives forever in the coal mines). Sharing his feelings when being awarded the title of People's Artist, he said: "After many years of striving for art, being awarded the title of People's Artist by the State is a joy and a great achievement in my twilight years."

The youngest People's Artist is Pham Phuong Thao. People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao was born in 1982 in Nghe An. Participating in the Sao Mai Television Singing Program in 2003, winning the Third Prize in the Folk Music category and the Most Favorite Singer award was a turning point for Pham Phuong Thao. The name of the Nghe singer is associated with immortal lyrical songs such as Near Truong Sa, Who came to Nghe An, Nguoi di xay ho Ke Go, Gian ma thuong, Het ang roi thuong, O hai dau noi nho... Besides being a singer, she can also compose and write poetry. The song Chang vinh quy, which she composed herself, won a gold medal at the National Music and Dance Festival in 2018. Some famous songs she wrote include Gai Nghe, Cho em thoi chong chanh, Dat me ngay ve, Trang sang mot minh. Her first poetry collection, "Di tat xuan thi", is a heartfelt reflection on the difficult fate of the female singer herself. People's Artist Thu Huyen was born in 1975 in Hanoi, in a family with no one working in the arts. She is known by many audiences with the nicknames "Thi Mau" or "Huyen cheo".
In addition to the role of Thi Mau, Thu Huyen was successful with many other roles such as Thi Phuong in Truong Vien, Miss Son in the play of the same name, Suy Van in Suy Van pretending to be crazy, Hoan Thu in Kieu, Sita in the play of the same name, Thuyen in Dieu con re... At the age of 32, Thu Huyen was specially awarded the title of Meritorious Artist and was one of the youngest female artists to be awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in Vietnam at that time.
Artist Tan Minh graduated from the Vocal Department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, and is loved for his sweet, warm voice. Trinh Kim Chi is the first runner-up to be awarded the title of People's Artist.
At the end of 2018, Tran Ly Ly left her position as Vice Principal of the Ho Chi Minh City Dance School to move to Hanoi to take on the role of Acting Director of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet. She became the first female leader in the 60-year history of the Theater. Currently, People's Artist Tran Ly Ly holds the position of Acting Director of the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).
People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi was awarded the title of People's Artist on this occasion. She is the first Vietnamese runner-up to be awarded the title of People's Artist. Born in 1971, having studied at the University of Theater and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, in 1994, Trinh Kim Chi participated in the Miss Vietnam contest and won the second runner-up position. In 2014, Trinh Kim Chi was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist. At that time, Trinh Kim Chi was the first runner-up in the history of Vietnamese beauty contests to be awarded this title. Sharing her joy of receiving the noble title, the female artist said: "This title is a motivation for me to strive and confidently dedicate myself to art. It is also a reminder for artists to work seriously in art and protect this noble title."
