Today (April 6), the People's Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province held a conference to announce the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the Thua Thien-Hue Urban Master Plan to 2045, with a vision to 2065, and promote investment in Thua Thien-Hue province in 2024.

Event - Prime Minister: 'If you say something, you must do it. If you make a commitment, you must fulfill it' — The Prime Minister presented the Decision approving the General Urban Planning of Thua Thien-Hue province to 2045, with a vision to 2065, to the leaders of Thua Thien-Hue province.

Attending the conference were comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister; Comrade Nguyen Khoa Diem, former member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Commission; Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission; Party Central Committee members: Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies; representatives of diplomatic agencies, international organizations, business community, entrepreneurs, domestic and international investors.

On the side of Thua Thien-Hue province, there were the participation of comrade Le Truong Luu, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province and comrades leading departments and branches in the area.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his appreciation for Thua Thien-Hue province, agencies, localities and partners for their careful coordination in preparing the "3 in 1" conference: announcing the Provincial Planning, Thua Thien Hue Urban Master Plan and promoting the province's investment; demonstrating the development vision of Thua Thien Hue which was built in a systematic, strategic and long-term manner and with the special attention of businesses and investors.

The Prime Minister summarized the Thua Thien-Hue Planning in 13 words: Identity, smart, adaptive, green, clean, beautiful, safe, sustainable.

Emphasizing some key contents, the Prime Minister first spent time analyzing the position, role and importance of planning work.

Regarding the province's potential and advantages, the Prime Minister stated that Thua Thien-Hue has an important strategic position, especially as a bridge from the North to the South. "The comprehensive development of Hue is an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority," the Prime Minister emphasized.

Thua Thien-Hue has great potential for marine-lagoon economic development with the Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon system, the largest in Southeast Asia.

Thua Thien-Hue is a land of spiritual land, human genius, culture, historical ancient capital, world heritage city, with 5 world cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO (including: Complex of Hue Monuments, Hue Royal Court Music, Nguyen Dynasty Woodblocks, Nguyen Dynasty Official Records and Poetry on Hue Royal Architecture); especially the system of relics commemorating President Ho Chi Minh. From there, according to the Prime Minister, Hue can become a model for developing cultural industry.

People of Thua Thien-Hue have a unique cultural identity and beauty, "very Hue", gentle, delicate, sincere, hospitable, hard-working, love work, and have a long-standing tradition of learning. People are the most important factor, deciding the development of Thua Thien-Hue.

Thua Thien-Hue has a developed education and healthcare system with Hue University, Phu Xuan University, Hue National School, Hue Central Hospital...

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister acknowledged, commended and congratulated the important achievements that the Party Committee, government, army and people of Thua Thien-Hue province have achieved in the past time, contributing to the overall achievements and results of the whole country.

The Prime Minister requested central ministries and branches to continue to monitor and coordinate the effective implementation of the planning; summarize, learn from experience, supplement and adjust the planning appropriately; coordinate and support effectively and synchronously with localities; work with localities and the whole region to promote combined strength in implementing the planning.

In addition, the Prime Minister also requested the business community, investors, and all ministries, branches and leaders at all levels of Thua Thien-Hue province: If you say something, you must do it; if you commit, you must carry it out; if you carry it out, you must have real results, be able to weigh, measure, count and quantify them; create new momentum and motivation for development.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province, shared that throughout the process of construction and development, the Party Committee, government and people of Thua Thien-Hue province have always received the affection and attention of the leadership and direction of the Party and the State; especially after the Politburo issued Resolution 54-NQ/TW on December 10, 2019 on the construction and development of Thua Thien-Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045; the Government passed Resolution 83/NQ-CP on May 27, 2020 promulgating the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution 54 and the National Assembly passed Resolution 38/2021/QH15 on November 13, 2021 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Thua Thien-Hue province; The above contents have created the premise, solid foundation and important motivation to build Thua Thien-Hue into a centrally-run city on the basis of preserving and promoting the values of the ancient capital's heritage and Hue's cultural identity with cultural, heritage, ecological, landscape, environmentally friendly and intelligent characteristics.
