According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the city's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 is estimated to increase by 7.5% compared to 2023, bringing the city to second place in the group of 5 centrally-run cities and third in the key economic region of the Central region. However, this increase has not yet reached the target of 8-8.5% set by the City People's Council.

Also in 2024, Da Nang's GRDP per capita will reach 4,725 USD, lower than the target of 4,900 USD; goods export turnover will reach 1.92 billion USD, up 3.2% compared to 2023; total state budget revenue will record results exceeding expectations, reaching 25,760 billion VND, up 19.9% ​​over the previous year, completing 133.3% of the assigned estimate; total realized social investment capital will reach 32,852 billion VND, up 7.2% over the same period last year.

Da Nang City's economy is on the rise and showing many improvements.

In particular, in 2024, Da Nang has resolved many long-standing issues, including those related to real estate projects. The city has also invested heavily in the health sector with a total capital of VND 5,000 billion, focusing on building modern hospital infrastructure. At the same time, more than VND 700 billion has been prepared to purchase modern equipment for hospitals and upgrade the system of medical stations and district-level hospitals. Education has also been focused on with a series of investment projects to build schools to improve training quality...

An important milestone in 2024 is the National Assembly's approval of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the organization of urban government and specific mechanisms and policies for Da Nang. This is an important premise for the city to promote development, combined with the Politburo's policy on establishing a Regional Financial Center in Da Nang. In 2024, Da Nang's export turnover of goods will reach 1.92 billion USD, an increase of 3.2% compared to 2023.

In the tourism sector, Da Nang expects to welcome 12.5-13 million overnight visitors, an increase of 16-17% compared to last year, of which international visitors are expected to reach 5.1 million and domestic visitors over 7 million. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and travel is expected to reach over VND37,000 billion, an increase of 19-20%...

Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, said that the city's goal in the coming period is to continue to effectively implement solutions to restore and grow the socio-economy, focusing on tourism and high-quality services, resources to support businesses to boost production, create competitiveness in the market, focusing on the processing and manufacturing industries; build an ecological, modern, sustainable agriculture, increase added value associated with tourism and urban areas...

To realize these goals, the People's Committee of Da Nang City has developed a specific action plan. In particular, the city will restructure economic sectors, innovate the growth model and promote the development of tourism, trade and services. The logistics sector is also focused on, in order to create a foundation to attract import and export goods circulating through the area.
