On the sidelines of the workshop, discussing Da Lat's expectations in developing the cultural industry, Mr. Dang Duc Hiep - Secretary of the Da Lat City Party Committee, said: "Da Lat not only expects more tourists to come to Da Lat, exceeding 10 million visitors/year, but also expects tourists to be happier to spend more. More tourists and more spending without increasing emissions is a challenge for Da Lat.
In many calculations of leaders of Lam Dong province and Da Lat city, only cultural industry, creative industry and green tourism can change the core of Da Lat tourism.
Da Lat, to put it simply, will become "more luxurious and classy" thanks to the development of cultural and creative industries.
With Da Lat, Dr. Alexandre Yersin took the first five letters of five words in a Latin proverb like European cities: "Dat Allis Laetitum Alliis Temperriem", meaning: "Give one joy, give another coolness". Da Lat tourism will do this when it adheres to the values of green, culture, and musical creativity".
Vietjet Air: Bustling domestic and international routes connecting to Da Lat
Mr. Ha Nang Viet - Deputy General Director of Commercial of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company - said that since the early days of operation, the airline has considered Da Lat an attractive tourist destination in Vietnam. The airline is operating many routes to Da Lat. Among them, there are bustling routes such as connecting Da Lat with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Vinh City, Phu Quoc City or Can Tho...
These are regular routes, maintaining about 120 flights each week, providing 1,300 seats from all over to Da Lat.
Regarding opening flights from Da Lat to the world, Vietjet is also the pioneer airline connecting Da Lat with the international market. Mr. Ha Nang Viet said that this task is very difficult due to the characteristics of Lien Khuong airport as a domestic airport. However, the airline has made great efforts to exploit flights to Busan, Seoul (South Korea) to bring international tourist groups to the city of thousands of flowers or charter flights to bring Chinese tourists to explore.

Vietjet, a new generation airline with 115 new aircraft, connects Vietnam to many countries around the world. The airline's aircraft are painted with the red flag with a yellow star and play Hello Vietnam music on flights.
Spiritual cultural tourism is a field with great potential.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy Lan, sales director of Samten Hills Dalat: "Spiritual tourism is a part of cultural tourism. This is an industry with a very high growth rate. After the pandemic, this tourism sector has developed even more.
There are two main factors for developing spiritual tourism: nature and people. Samten Hills Dalat has used spiritual cultural factors to bring into the arid land, complex terrain, thereby forming a tourism product. From the fourth quarter of 2023, we have taken steps towards net zero. As for people, our luck is that we have a portrait of the people of Dalat".
"With our research data and our partners, we can confirm that spiritual cultural experience tourism is a field with great potential. It has the power to create the highest value but use the lowest resources. Creativity and cultural factors are two factors we always try to grasp when creating and perfecting tourism products.
We have created the product and hope for support from leaders, travel companies, and airlines to bring the product to the domestic and international public," she said.
Dr. Mai Minh Nhat, Vice Rector of Dalat University, said that cultural values and heritage are considered the pillars of cultural industry development, and many countries in the world have also affirmed this. The Vietnamese government also identified that among the measures and solutions, one of the most notable things is to focus on exploiting products bearing cultural imprints and local values, creating values of regional resources and culture for the development of the cultural industry.
Cultural heritage also becomes the driving force and goal of development.

According to Dr. Minh Nhat, thanks to the cultural industry, the value and image of the beauty of the locality and people are spread, bringing benefits and through that, cultural heritage also becomes the driving force and goal of development. Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee also identified the core and strength of this place as developing the cultural industry and heritage.
However, each locality needs to review its strengths instead of developing widely. Currently, Da Lat is most prominent in performing arts, cuisine, music, and architecture - which will be the highlights of cultural heritage.
"Compared to other cities, Da Lat is still young with 130 years of development. But thanks to natural climate conditions and historical factors, this place has many valuable and unique heritages. Da Lat people are gentle, elegant and hospitable. These values will crystallize and create the identity of Da Lat tourism.
This is a precious treasure that we need to join hands to preserve, develop tourism and improve people's lives, while positioning the name of Da Lat tourism on the world tourism map," said Dr. Minh Nhat.

Ms. Ta Thi Tu Uyen, representative of Vietravel company, from the perspective of a tourism product maker, said that in recent years, we have witnessed a strong increase in the demand for nature-based tourism. Tourists not only seek beautiful destinations but also want to have unique experiences close to nature.
Tourists want to participate in activities such as trekking, camping, or exploring local culture. This not only helps them relax but also creates memorable memories that "touch and linger in the hearts of tourists".
From these observations, travel companies when designing tourism products always include life values in the trips.
"Life is fast, tourism must slow down," Ms. Tu Uyen shared. So, what needs to be done to increase Da Lat tourism products?
Talking about Da Lat of the land of thousands of peace, how can tourists increase their happiness index after their trips to Da Lat. This is the factor that encourages tourists to return. Prioritize the development of renewable energy products. In particular, focus on natural tourism associated with community culture.
Da Lat city, with its cool climate and beautiful natural scenery, is truly an ideal destination for those who love to explore. Da Lat is not only famous for its brilliant flower fields but also for activities such as visiting pine forests, lakes and eco-tourism areas.
According to a recent survey, more than 75% of tourists coming to Da Lat said they were satisfied with their natural experiences here.
Developing health tourism, tourists feel refreshed through trips. Dalat develops event tourism.
In addition to the Dalat Flower Festival, known as the creative city every month, there are also events attracting domestic and foreign tourists to experience Dalat to the fullest.
In addition, to minimize the impact from the increasing number of tourists in Da Lat, environmental management needs to be focused more than ever.

Ms. Apinya Iamampha, Deputy Governor of Suphanburi City, Thailand, said that Da Lat city has very good cultural connections, which is an important foundation for Da Lat to continue to develop in the future.
On Suphanburi’s side, Ms. Apinya shared that the province is also implementing a 20-year development plan to turn tourism combined with culture into an economic pillar. With the advantage of being a city in the UNESCO Music Network, Suphanburi has set a goal of exploiting the music element to attract international tourists.
“We believe that music is a universal language. With this vision, we aim to create a new generation of musicians and use music as a driving force for socio-economic development. Public-private partnerships, together with the participation of governments and stakeholders, will be key to creating sustainable values,” Ms. Apinya emphasized.
Specifically, Suphanburi province is promoting music, organizing annual festivals and encouraging the organization of monthly music festivals.
“We want to improve people's musical skills and work with private entities to organize more large-scale festivals,” Ms. Apinya shared.
She also said that the role of the local government is to coordinate and support infrastructure. Currently, many famous domestic and foreign music groups have come to perform in Suphanburi. The local government has supported the arrangement of accommodation, hotels and necessary services for artists as well as visitors attending the event.
Music festivals have brought in significant revenue for Suphanburi and contributed to raising the province’s image on the international tourism map. With the available potential, Ms. Apinya hopes that Suphanburi and Da Lat can cooperate to organize inter-provincial music events, thereby attracting more international tourists and creating unique and sustainable cultural values.
Clearly identifying tourist segments will help Da Lat have appropriate attraction strategies and effectively exploit potential tourist sources.
Mr. Do Quoc Thong - Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association - Photo: QUANG DINH
Mr. Do Quoc Thong - Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association - assessed that over the past 30 years, tourism activities in Da Lat - Lam Dong have developed rapidly. However, this development has also significantly changed the landscape and appearance of the city. This development process also poses many challenges, especially the rapid increase of greenhouses and greenhouses, affecting the value of the natural landscape.
Expressing his agreement with Dr. Minh Nhat, Mr. Quoc Thong said that the issue of preserving heritage, especially the ancient villas of Da Lat, is very important.
Along with that, Da Lat needs to build tourist routes connecting through many heritage sites, both promoting cultural and historical values and creating attractive tourism products.
The number of international visitors to Da Lat is showing signs of growth. Therefore, the city needs to focus on segmenting the international tourism market by region and customer group. Clearly identifying the segment will help Da Lat have a suitable attraction strategy and effectively exploit potential sources of visitors.
"We still have a lot of untapped potential. To develop sustainably, we need to create unique tourism products from existing resources. More importantly, how can Da Lat no longer have a situation of overloaded peak season and deserted low season, only then can tourism truly develop stably and sustainably," Mr. Thong emphasized.
