On June 12, a seminar introducing the book "Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation in Asia-Africa-Latin America: Journeys, Friends" was held in Hanoi.
This is one of the activities towards the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation in Asia-Africa-Latin America (October 19, 1956 - October 19, 2026).

Attending the seminar were representatives of leaders of departments, ministries, branches, central agencies; leaders of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and member organizations.
At the Seminar, Associate Professor, Doctor, writer Nguyen The Ky - Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts, Chairman of the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation in Asia-Africa-Latin America, reviewed the formation and development of the Committee over the past nearly 70 years.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation in Asia, Africa and Latin America emphasized that the establishment and development of the Committee is closely linked to the outbreak and successful development of the movement of people in Asia, Africa and Latin America to unite and fight to regain and protect national and democratic rights in the second half of the 20th century.
With deep respect and gratitude to the leaders and people of Asian, African and Latin American countries; with pride and gratitude to generations of leaders, experts, friends and partners, the Standing Committee of the Committee has directed the collection, research, compilation and publication of the book "Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation in Asia, Africa and Latin America: Milestones and Friends".

Sharing about the book's content, Mr. Pham Van Chuong, former Chairman of the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation with Asia, Africa and Latin America, said that the book was introduced to readers in two languages: Vietnamese and English, with a thickness of nearly 330 pages.
The book has six main parts: Ho Chi Minh's thought, the guidelines and viewpoints of the Party and State of Vietnam on international solidarity and people's solidarity; The process of formation, operation and development of the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation in Asia, Africa and Latin America; Inter-regional and national Asian, African and Latin American Solidarity organizations; Vietnam - Africa cooperation through the periods; Introducing the leaders and typical faces of the Committee through the periods.
According to Mr. Pham Van Chuong, turning each page of the book, readers will be provided with information about the history of the establishment and outstanding activities of the Asian-African People's Solidarity Organization (AAPSO), under the Vietnam Asian Solidarity Committee, later the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity and Cooperation in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

The book also introduces passionate international activists such as: Ben Barka (Moroccan); Cuban President Fidel Castro; revolutionary Che Guevara; Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika; Venezuelan guerrilla group that took American hostages to help Vietnam save hero Nguyen Van Troi...
During the discussion, delegates welcomed the compilation and publication of the book, and assessed that the book highlights memorable journeys, loyal and affectionate international friends; and the Commission's contributions to the goals of peace, solidarity, friendship, national independence, social progress and sustainable development in the Asia-Africa-Latin America region in particular and the world in general.
