Vietnam - Brazil strengthen cooperation in trade and industry

Accordingly, the Minister attended the State-level welcoming ceremony, talks between the President of Brazil and President Luong Cuong, meetings between the President of Brazil and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, attended the signing ceremony of cooperation documents, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a Working Group on promoting trade and industry between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil, received the Minister of Mines and Energy and the Deputy Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and other activities of the working delegation.

This is the first high-level visit after the two countries upgraded their Strategic Partnership in November 2024, actively contributing to promoting cooperation in all fields, especially economics, trade and industry between Vietnam and Brazil.

Within the framework of the visit, on March 28, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien and Deputy Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil Márcio Fernando Elias Rosa signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Working Group to promote Trade and Industrial Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of the Federal Republic of Brazil under the witness of President Luong Cuong and President Lula Da Silva to strengthen cooperation in the field of trade and industry between the two sides.

This is an important event, not only reaffirming the good economic relationship and cooperation between the two countries but also marking a new step forward in consolidating and expanding cooperation in the fields of economics, trade and industry, especially in the context of the two countries celebrating the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and upgrading the relationship to Strategic Partnership in 2024.

According to the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding, the two Parties agree on measures to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries; recognize the importance of promoting an open environment for international trade and industrial cooperation; ensure that the Parties' trade policies jointly promote the goal of sustainable development; promptly resolve issues in trade and industry between the Parties; seek ways to create a mechanism to enhance dialogue on initiatives to expand trade and enhance industrial capacity through enhanced comprehensive cooperation.

The two sides affirmed that in the coming time, they will closely coordinate to effectively implement the agreed contents, in which the Working Group to promote Trade and Industry Cooperation between the two Ministries will be a reliable, fast and effective mechanism to promote economic relations between the two countries.
