Pepper prices today, March 31, 2025, in the domestic market continued to move sideways in key localities, trading from 159,000 - 160,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 159,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (159,000 VND/kg); Dak Lak (160,000 VND/kg); Dak Nong (160,000 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (159,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (159,000 VND/kg).

Thus, pepper prices today are stable in key growing areas compared to yesterday morning. The highest pepper price is at 160,000 VND/kg.

To summarize last week, pepper prices suddenly dropped sharply in the middle of the week but quickly recovered, regaining a stable price soon after.

In the provinces, the harvest is still going on. The recent drought in the Central Highlands has caused concerns about the yield of the next crop. There are currently many different forecasts from organizations about this year's crop yield. Most of the actual records show a downward trend.

Most pepper farmers had a solid financial foundation last year due to high pepper prices and income from other crops. This improved their storage capacity, giving them more flexibility in selling. Therefore, the hoarding mentality this year is much higher.

On the other hand, high pepper prices and rising financial costs are causing most buyers to buy sparingly, in a “buy as you go” style. Therefore, the market is quite gloomy. In the first 3 months of the year, Vietnam’s pepper export volume did not increase, but continued to remain low.

According to Ptexim's estimates, Vietnam is likely to export only 16,000 to 18,000 tons of pepper in March. Thus, the total export volume in the first 3 months of 2025 will be around 43,000 - 45,000 tons, the lowest in the past 6 years.

According to experts, pepper prices in the international market may continue to increase, especially black pepper, thanks to strong demand from major markets. Pepper prices are currently supported by many factors.

Major pepper producing countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Brazil are all facing production declines due to adverse weather conditions. Demand is increasing as major consumer markets such as the US and Europe are boosting pepper imports for the food and spice industries.

The US dollar remains high, contributing to supporting pepper prices in the international market.

In addition, supply from Vietnam remains limited, farmers and traders continue to stockpile goods, selling only very small quantities after the harvest season.

According to the International Pepper Community, on the trading floors, Malaysian black pepper is currently quoted at the highest price of 9,900 USD/ton, while Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper is the lowest at 7,000 USD/ton.

Meanwhile, only Indonesian black pepper prices decreased by 28 USD/ton, down to 7,239 USD/ton last week. In the same direction, white pepper prices decreased by 141 USD/ton last week, down to 10,066 USD/ton.

The announced price of white pepper is 10,066 USD/ton (equivalent to 259,301 VND/kg).

In the Malaysian market, ASTA white pepper prices remained stable, moving in the same direction as Vietnamese white pepper last week, at 12,400 USD/ton and 10,100 USD/ton respectively.

In the Indian market, pepper prices continued to remain unchanged for most types of pepper. Garbled pepper was priced at 67,200 rupees per quintal (equivalent to 208,032 VND/kg), Ungarbled pepper was listed at 65,200 rupees per quintal, while the lowest price for gram/liter pepper was 64,200 rupees per quintal (equivalent to 198,744 VND/kg).
