At the launching ceremony on the morning of September 18, Mr. Doan Kim Thanh, Director of the Center for Youth Science and Technology Development, said that for many years, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the City Youth Union Council and the center have always been pioneers in organizing learning and creative activities for team members and children.
"For the English Talent Contest - SPEAK UP 2024, this is a healthy playground, stimulating the English communication ability of children in Ho Chi Minh City; at the same time equipping them with social practice skills, international integration and improving foreign language skills for the city's youth in the period 2022 - 2027" - Mr. Thanh emphasized.
Parents learn about the contest
The contestants are primary and secondary school students nationwide. The organizers will divide the contest into 2 groups: Group A for primary school students, Group B for secondary school students. The contest period lasts until January 2025.
According to Mr. Jason Beutler, Regional Training Director of ILA, in terms of competition format, candidates will have to pass 4 rounds of competition. The 32 semi-finalists will receive training from professional coaches and many diverse challenges. In the final round, 12 candidates will compete directly for the final prize in Ho Chi Minh City.
The winner of Group A will receive a certificate of merit from the City Youth Union, a summer study abroad trip to Singapore and Malaysia, and a scholarship to study English at ILA. The total prize value is 150 million VND.
The winner of Group B will receive a certificate of merit from the City Youth Union, a summer study abroad trip to Australia and a scholarship to study English at ILA. The total prize value is 190 million VND.
In addition, the organizers also awarded attractive secondary prizes to talented contestants.
