On the morning of November 22, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City organized the Primary School Festival at Le Van Tam Primary School, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
Many types of Vietnamese language games were brought to the festival for students to enjoy, learn and gain experience for schools and teachers in teaching Vietnamese according to the 2018 general education program.
A series of Vietnamese language playgrounds were brought to the festival. These include Uncle Ho's storytelling playground for first graders; "Learning Vietnamese for fun" for second graders; "The flower pens I write" for third graders; "My beloved book" for fourth graders; and "Interesting Vietnamese" for fifth graders.
From the story-telling requirement for first graders to the writing requirement for fifth graders..., all games are based on the lessons and learning content about Vietnamese that students learn in class and at school.
Each playground has different requirements but all help students demonstrate what they have learned, further training their qualities and abilities in Vietnamese.

Not only that, besides those "official" playgrounds, there are also playgrounds from the booths of schools and school clusters with the creativity of teachers and schools in enriching and deepening the Vietnamese language in the hearts of students.
These are games like word puzzles, crossword puzzles, fill in the blanks, spin the magic hat to answer questions, listen to song lyrics to guess the name of a folk song, folk games, name the game, name the animal...
With any game, almost all students are interested and excited.
Quynh Lam, a student at Dong Da Primary School in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, happily said while reading a wall newspaper with her friends on November 20: "I'm very happy because I read a lot of good sentences. We also solved puzzles and got prizes."

Also very excited, Duong Kha Han, class 3/2, Nguyen Thai Hoc Primary School, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, said: "I play many games but I really like the folk sentence matching game. Going out like this is really fun, Vietnamese is really rich."
For teacher Bui Thi Kim Hoan, the "I love Vietnamese" festival is a playground for students to freely explore a maze of games developed from the Vietnamese language subject.
"The festival also helps students and teachers approach the 2018 education program more deeply. At the same time, teachers also have a better understanding of how to develop students' abilities and qualities in the Vietnamese language subject, which is a valuable experience for students and teachers," Ms. Hoan commented.
The festival contributes to preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language.
According to Ms. Lam Hong Lam Thuy, Head of the Primary Education Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the goal of organizing the festival with the theme "I love Vietnamese" is to help students have a playground, demonstrate their Vietnamese language skills and also contribute to innovating the methods and forms of learning Vietnamese at primary level.
Especially, in the context of the strong development of social networks, educating students about the purity of Vietnamese needs to be expressed not only in writing but also in communication and speaking...
Therefore, schools need to be places that highlight the purity of the Vietnamese language. The festival helps foster in primary school students a love and awareness of preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language.
