1. Before confirming his departure from Yokohama FC, in his career, Cong Phuong played abroad in Mito Hollyhock (Japan, 2016), Incheon United (Korea, 2019), Sint-Truiden STVV (Belgium, 2019) - a record that is not easy to break for a Vietnamese player. If in the first times, the striker who grew up from the HAGL training center did not receive too many expectations, because all were considered more of a commercial contract than a professional one. However, the 4th time when moving to Yokohama FC was different, Cong Phuong was signed by the Japanese team for 3 years, along with great determination from the striker from Nghe An. But in the end, after 2 years of effort, what Cong Phuong received was really not better than the previous trips, so once again he gave up his dream of going abroad.

From Cong Phuong

2. Without saying it, but among the talents trained by HAGL, Cong Phuong is probably the name most expected to satisfy Mr. Duc's thirst for the dream of bringing Vietnamese players to play abroad. This is confirmed through a series of efforts and relationships of Mr. Duc to bring players from HAGL academy to Japan, Belgium, Korea, Thailand... to play in the past many years. However, all of Mr. Duc's efforts have failed with Tuan Anh, Xuan Truong, Van Toan and then Cong Phuong, because all of them rarely played, including the low-level choice (compared to K-League, J-League) which is Thai-League. In the future, it is unknown whether anyone else can help Mr. Duc fulfill his dream of bringing Vietnamese players to play abroad successfully, but at least for now, the HAGL boss has completely failed with the most "elite" group from the training center of the Mountain City.

3. Nearly a quarter of a century of transformation and wearing a professional shirt, but up to now, Vietnamese football has not witnessed a male player going abroad successfully enough to be memorable. If the generation of Huynh Duc to Cong Vinh did not leave an impression, it is understandable, because Vietnamese football is still in a state of turmoil, then the fact that the next generation (except Van Lam) also receives similar results is really difficult. Quang Hai, Van Hau, Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Tuan Anh, Van Toan... all have much better conditions than their seniors, but in the end they still left and returned in a dull state, which is sad for Vietnamese football. That is to say, not only Mr. Duc is disappointed and sad, but also fans and Vietnamese football also have similar feelings.
