Announcing Ea Kao commune, Buon Ma Thuot city reaching advanced new rural standards

On the morning of November 20, Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee held a ceremony to announce Ea Kao commune meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City Vu Van Hung said that Ea Kao was the first commune in the city to achieve new rural standards in 2014. With the motto "New rural areas only have a starting point, not an ending point", Ea Kao commune has continued to implement many solutions to maintain and improve the quality and effectiveness of the criteria. After more than 9 years of implementing the construction of advanced new rural areas, in 2023, Ea Kao commune completed 19/19 criteria to achieve advanced new rural standards according to regulations.

From the efforts of the entire political system and local people, on November 4, 2024, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province issued Decision No. 2780/QD-UBND recognizing Ea Kao commune, Buon Ma Thuot city as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.

The results of the commune's advanced new rural construction are clearly shown in the following aspects: the material and spiritual life of rural people is constantly improving; the multidimensional poverty rate is only 1.6%; the average income per capita reaches more than 60.5 million VND/person/year; infrastructure is increasingly invested synchronously and completed, meeting the requirements of production development and people's lives; 100% of inter-commune roads, village roads, and hamlets have been asphalted; 91.42% of alleys and hamlets have been concreted; 87.55% of main intra-field roads have been hardened, 94.6% of agricultural land area is irrigated and actively irrigated; cultural facilities ensure cultural and sports activities of the people.

Grassroots democracy has been actively promoted; the grassroots political system has continued to be consolidated, constantly improving the quality of its operations; social order and security have been maintained. The movement of the entire people joining hands to build new rural areas has been actively responded to by the people, and has become a widespread emulation movement. In particular, the people have been deeply aware of their role as the main subject in building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and moving towards building model new rural areas.

To maintain and promote the achieved results, continue to effectively implement the New Rural Construction Program, strive to build a model new rural commune, comrade Nguyen Hoai Duong proposed that the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations of Ea Kao commune focus on reviewing, directing the implementation, fully meeting and improving the standard level according to the requirements of the National Criteria for Advanced New Rural Communes in the period of 2021-2025 to create a premise to strive for a model new rural commune; further strengthen information and propaganda work to raise awareness and responsibility of the entire political system and the whole society on new rural construction; clearly define the roles, responsibilities and coordination of agencies, organizations and people in new rural construction; further improve the quality of planning, management and organization of implementation of plans and projects on agricultural and rural development, tourism services, trade, etc.
