A Russian tourist staying at a homestay in Ham Tien Ward, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, unfortunately fell down the steps and had to be hospitalized. Because the patient did not have enough money for treatment, Ham Tien Ward Police proactively coordinated with the homestay owner to contact the patient's fellow countrymen's groups. Thanks to that, the Russian tourist has overcome the critical condition.

Mr. Maksimov Mikhail (born in 1988, Russian nationality) came to Ms. Mai Kim Truc Hien's homestay Chillout Home Villas (Ward 1, Ham Tien Ward) to stay and relax in early March 2025. On the morning of March 22, when she had just returned from the market, Ms. Hien heard that Mr. Mikhail had fallen down the steps of the house, had convulsions, his mouth was stiff and he could not speak and his head was bleeding. His girlfriend, Valentina, was also confused when she discovered the incident. More difficult, Valentina and Ms. Hien could not communicate much in a common language, so they only knew the information that this was the 4th time Mikhail had had a seizure. Ms. Hien quickly took a taxi to take Mikhail to the hospital.
Doctors informed Mikhail that he had severe epilepsy and had to be transferred to a special monitoring room. The initial cost of treatment and room rent was around 5-8 million VND. Through the Google Translate app on her phone, Ms. Hien informed Mikhail's girlfriend about the amount of money needed for treatment, but Valentina just shook her head and said she had no money left. Ms. Hien quickly ran to a nearby ATM and withdrew 3 million VND to give to Valentina. Ms. Hien shared: "I tried to support Mikhail who had to stay in the hospital for many days. The cost of treatment did not stop at 5 million VND but could be higher, so I told Valentina to post the information on the Russian group of friends, and I proactively contacted the Ham Tien Ward Police for support."

Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Hieu - Head of Ham Tien Ward Police has directed the local police to coordinate with accommodation facilities to provide initial support to tourists, at the same time contact a number of charitable organizations and individuals in the ward and increase information to Russian associations and groups in Ham Tien.
Thanks to that, Mr. Mikhail received timely support from everyone and now his health is stable.
“The officers and soldiers of Ham Tien Ward Police have wholeheartedly supported us. I appreciate their working spirit when we are in dire need of help,” Ms. Hien said.
