On March 26, the Tan Binh District Area Team, Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with Ward 4 Police and related units to investigate the cause of the fire at a 5-storey house on Nguyen Thai Binh Street.

The ground floor along with many items used for coffee business burned about 35m2, many walls were covered in smoke. Fire police and rescue team controlled the fire from spreading to the remaining 165m2 of the house. 6 people were rescued safely, no one was seriously injured.

Earlier, at around 11:34 p.m. on March 25, a fire broke out on the ground floor of the house above. Six people were sleeping on the upper floors. When they saw the fire, they shouted and ran to the rooftop and into the bathroom. Some people tied blankets and curtains into escape ropes and climbed out the window to escape through the roof of a neighbor's house.



One of the 6 people had crawled into the toilet but due to smoke seeping in, he opened the window and stuck his head out to call for help. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police, upon receiving the information, mobilized the District 11 and Tan Binh Area Team with 6 fire trucks (including a ladder truck) and 34 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police had to break the rolling door on the ground floor to be able to access the scene of the fire.

The ladder truck was operated to approach the rooftop, officers and soldiers guided the people above to escape safely. The rescue teams went deep into the floors to search for trapped people, rescuing people trapped in the toilet on the 4th floor and bringing them out through the stairs. After more than 30 minutes of extinguishing the fire and searching for victims, the fire was completely controlled.
