(NLDO)- Nam Dinh Provincial Police have provided initial information on the cause of the car accident that plunged into a ditch, killing 7 people and injuring 2 others.
On the evening of January 30 (the second day of the Lunar New Year), the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Nam Dinh Provincial Police quickly reported on a particularly serious traffic accident that occurred on National Highway 21, in Nam Dinh City, Nam Dinh Province.

Accordingly, the accident occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on January 30, at Km153+500 National Highway 21 in Nam Van ward (Nam Dinh city). The car driven by Ms. NTD (born in 1964, residing in Dien Bien ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi; driving license class B1) was driving a car with license plate 30G-156.xx (7-seat type) on National Highway 21 from Co Le town to Nam Dinh city. When reaching the above area, it crashed into a ditch next to the road.
At this time, there were a total of 9 people in the car with license plate 30G-156.xx.
The accident resulted in 7 deaths at the scene, including: Ms. NTD (the driver), Mr. N.D.C. (born in 1956, Ms. D.'s husband), Ms. NNA (born in 1989, Ms. D.'s daughter), TNMK (born in 2017, Ms. A.'s son), Mr. NVT (born in 1986, residing in Thanh Oai, Hanoi), Ms. D. (born in 1991, Mr. NVT's wife), and NQM (born in 2023, address unknown).
The two injured people were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment: Ms. NNQ (born in 1991, daughter of Ms. D.), and her nephew NND (a 6th grade student in Hanoi).
According to Nam Dinh Provincial Police, the initial preliminary cause was that the car was moving at a slow speed, the driver turned right, hit the road railing and plunged into the ditch, without colliding with people or other vehicles.
Currently, Nam Dinh province authorities are coordinating to handle the particularly serious accident that left 9 people injured and dead.
