In the upcoming AFC Champions League 2023/2024 group stage, Hanoi FC decided to choose My Dinh Stadium as their home ground, while Hai Phong FC advanced after a big win over Hong Kong Rangers (China).

In preparation for their first participation in the AFC Champions League, Hanoi FC has reached an agreement with the National Sports Complex on renting and using My Dinh Stadium for matches within the framework of the 2023/2024 AFC Champions League.
Recently, the biggest concern of football fans nationwide is the quality of the playing field which has not been guaranteed. The Capital team and the National Sports Complex have found a solution and agreed on a maintenance plan.
The two units also committed to the AFC competition organizing department to provide the most ideal stadium conditions for participating teams.
In the latest meeting, Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Chairman of Hanoi Football Club shared: "We are all representing the country and the Vietnamese people to participate in the most prestigious arena in Asia.
It is an honor and pride, I wish all categories are best prepared.
I care most about two things, one is a good playing field for players to demonstrate their skills, create good matches, and beautiful plays for the audience.
The remaining thing is to hope that the audience will support the team's journey in this tournament, come to the stadium to watch and cheer as much as possible, creating impressive images in the eyes of international friends."
The draw for the 2023/2024 AFC Champions League group stage will be held at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) headquarters on August 24. Hanoi FC aims to be the first Vietnamese team to advance past the group stage.
Hanoi FC is the current V-League champion and this year, they still have a chance to defend their title. Before the final round of V-League 2023, Hanoi FC is ranked second and two points behind the leader Hanoi Police FC.
* Defeating the representative of Hong Kong (China) football, Hong Kong Rangers Club with a score of 4-1, Hai Phong Club entered the AFC Champions League play-off match against Incheon United (Korea) .
This match took place at Mongkok Stadium in Hong Kong (China). The home team scored first in this match.
In the 41st minute, Yumemi Kanda of Hong Kong Rangers shot the ball off a Hai Phong defender's foot and changed direction, making it impossible for the away team's goalkeeper Dinh Trieu to block. Hong Kong Rangers took the lead 1-0.
After conceding the goal, the V-League representative played with great effort. The following minutes were the time when Hai Phong team increased the pressure.
However, it was not until the 87th minute that Hai Phong's efforts were rewarded. Foreign player Yuri Mamute failed to take a penalty kick, but Tuan Anh rushed in to score the rebound, equalizing 1-1 for the Hai Phong team.
The 1-1 draw in regulation time forced the two sides to play two extra periods. During the extra period, Hai Phong scored three consecutive goals.
The goalscorers for the V-League representative team were Yuri Mamute in the 107th and 116th minutes, and Martin Lo in the 110th minute. These goals sealed a 4-1 victory for Hai Phong.
After defeating Hong Kong Rangers, Hai Phong will meet the very strong team Incheon United (Korea) in the play-off match for a ticket to the group stage of this year's AFC Champions League.
The play-off match between Hai Phong and Incheon United takes place on August 22.
