Changing the purpose of more than 2.5 hectares of forest to build Phuoc An bridge connecting Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province has just issued Decision No. 902/QD-UBND dated March 20, 2025 on the implementation of Resolution No. 15/NQ-HDND dated February 27, 2025 of the Provincial People's Council, deciding on the policy of changing the purpose of using 2.57 hectares of protective forests in Phuoc An commune, Nhon Trach district to implement the Phuoc An bridge project, connecting Dong Nai province and Phu My city, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

According to the decision, the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district is responsible for organizing the implementation, closely monitoring the conversion of forest use purposes, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and reporting the results to the Provincial People's Committee before the end of 2025 meeting. The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to guide the project owner to complete the dossier according to the provisions of Article 42 of Decree No. 156/2018/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree No. 91/2024/ND-CP), and at the same time advise the Provincial People's Committee to decide on the conversion of forest use purposes when meeting all conditions according to the Forestry Law 2017 and the Land Law 2024.

Resolution No. 15/NQ-HDND takes effect from February 27, 2025, requiring relevant agencies to closely monitor the implementation process, ensure compliance with legal regulations and promptly reflect public opinions.
