The program was organized by the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department, the Vietnam Olympic Committee, the Vietnam Paralympic Committee in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Sports and Physical Training Industry's Traditional Day (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2025) and the day Uncle Ho wrote the article "Physical Training and Health" calling on people to exercise as well as many major celebrations in 2025.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized: “The Vietnam Sports Glory Program is not only a meaningful event to honor and reward outstanding athletes and coaches, but also an opportunity to review the formation and development of Vietnamese sports over the past 79 years, creating motivation to promote the patriotic emulation movement of the entire industry, striving to complete the important tasks set out in 2025. The fact that journalists nationwide voted for outstanding athletes and coaches nationwide in 2024 has recognized the efforts and attempts in training and competition of outstanding athletes, coaches and sports teams to contribute to the country's sports career".
This year, within the framework of the program "Glory of Vietnam Sports 2025", Vietnamese sports also officially launched a program towards the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33-2025) and the Southeast Asian Para Games (ASEAN Para Games 2025).
At the program, 5 coaches and 10 outstanding athletes of Vietnamese sports in 2024, along with 5 coaches and 3 outstanding Vietnamese disabled athletes in 2024, received certificates of merit from the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Olympic Committee.
At the end of the vote for the 2024 National Outstanding Athlete of Vietnam Sports, 10 faces were named in the list including Trinh Thu Vinh (shooting), Tran Quyet Chien (billiards), Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen (volleyball), Nguyen Thi Huong (canoeing), Pham Thi Hue (rowing), Nguyen Thuy Linh (badminton), Nguyen Thi That (cycling), Ha Thi Linh (boxing), Tran Thi Nhi Yen (athletics), Do Thi Anh Nguyet (archery). 5 coaches were named in the list of 2024 National Outstanding Coaches of Vietnam Sports including Nguyen Tuan Kiet (volleyball), Nguyen Viet Hoa (billiards), Nguyen Dinh Hoang (women's futsal), Luu Van Hoan (canoeing), Tran Quoc Cuong (shooting).
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also awarded prizes to the most favorite athlete on Tiktok (Nguyen Thuy Linh), the most favorite sports team on Tiktok (Vietnam women's volleyball team), and the most favorite soccer player on Tiktok (Nguyen Xuan Son).
Throughout its nearly 8-decade history, Hanoi Sports has always been the leading flag, pioneering in mass sports movements as well as always being one of the two leading units in the country in investing and developing high-performance sports.
In 2024, athletes and coaches from the capital will continue to make many contributions to the country's sports in many competitions. At the ceremony, 29 outstanding faces of Hanoi sports in the past year were also awarded certificates of merit by the City People's Committee.
Another meaningful activity to celebrate Vietnam Sports Day is the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and "Olympic Running Day for the health of all people".
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Campaign and the 10th anniversary of the Olympic Running Day for the Health of the People. Over the years, the Campaign “All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho” and the “Olympic Running Day for the Health of the People” have attracted the participation of millions of people, cadres and soldiers across the country, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the people.
Nearly 1,000 delegates, guests, coaches, and athletes participated in the Olympic Run Day for public health at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center.
Also at the Program, the Vietnam Sports Administration launched a response to the 33rd SEA Games and 13th ASEAN Para Games taking place in Thailand...
