As a type I urban area on the rise, the city has great potential to attract investment from economic sectors. With the rapid population growth, rapid development of industry, handicrafts, trade, services, craft villages, agricultural production, and urban infrastructure construction, it has been creating momentum to promote the city's economic development, but this is also the cause of environmental pollution. Therefore, Viet Tri has issued and implemented the City Environmental Project for the period 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030.
Implement the Environmental Project to improve the effectiveness of prevention, resolution, remediation, and strict control of environmental pollution factors, contributing to building a civilized, cultural urban area and developing the economy - society in a sustainable direction. In the period of 2020-2025, the city will achieve the target of 100% of domestic waste in urban areas, 90% of domestic waste in communes being collected, transported, and treated; 70% of construction waste, industrial waste in daily life being collected and treated; 100% of medical waste being collected and treated according to regulations; 100% of farms, ranches, livestock, crop and aquaculture households committing to and implementing environmental protection measures; 80% of new production and business establishments having clean production technology or installing equipment to minimize pollution, treating waste to meet environmental standards...
The city focuses on and strengthens propaganda and education to raise awareness and responsibility of agencies, units, businesses and people participating in environmental protection; develops and perfects regulations and rules, promotes the role of participating organizations and individuals; promotes emulation movements, campaigns, and builds self-management models in residential areas on environmental protection... Along with that, to implement the Project, the city issues a plan, dividing the implementation into years with specific goals and tasks...
Up to now, the implementation of the Environmental Protection Project has been paid attention to by wards and communes, thoroughly resolving a number of spontaneous landfills, limiting the burning of garbage and dumping of garbage at the wrong time and place. Main roads are regularly collected and cleaned, and people's awareness of environmental protection has gradually been raised. Household waste has been transported regularly and continuously throughout the day to the treatment site...
Contributing to environmental protection, the city's Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations have stepped up propaganda and mobilization; built many practical models associated with patriotic emulation movements and campaigns to mobilize people to join hands in preserving a green, clean and beautiful environment, and building a civilized lifestyle. At the same time, mobilize people to actively implement the Environmental Protection Project for the period 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030, and deploy the signing of the emulation covenant "Self-management of environmental protection" to 100% of residential areas.
