Join hands and unite to build Tien Phuoc for comprehensive development

- Sir, how has Tien Phuoc achieved the breakthrough tasks in the 2020 - 2025 term?

* Mr. Pham Van Doc: Tien Phuoc has focused on implementing the tasks set forth in the Resolution of the 17th District Party Congress; in which breakthrough tasks are highly focused.

Regarding the implementation of the breakthrough task of “Promoting and improving the quality of training and fostering the staff associated with building a team of district officials and civil servants to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new period”, Tien Phuoc has focused on training and fostering, contributing to improving the quality of the staff in the area. Up to now, the positions of staff from the district to the grassroots level have been basically consolidated and improved, ensuring the structure and quantity; the quality of the staff has been gradually improved.

Regarding the task of "Promoting the development of garden economy, farm economy, eco-tourism associated with building pure Vietnamese cultural identity", on April 12, 2021, the District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 03 with related content.

On that basis, Party committees and authorities at all levels have developed programs and plans for implementation. Well organized surveys, project establishment, step by step investment in building infrastructure to develop concentrated production areas in communes and inter-communes associated with planning, population arrangement, and new rural construction.

The district has issued a Project on planning the construction of the Tien Chau - Tien Ha inter-commune concentrated production area, Tien Phuoc district, for the period 2021 - 2030 for implementation, thereby drawing experience in building the remaining concentrated production areas according to the proposed resolution.

- In the past, how has Tien Phuoc attracted investment and built infrastructure to promote the district's synchronous economic development, sir?

* Mr. Pham Van Doc: Attracting investment, building a synchronous and effective infrastructure system, promoting rapid and sustainable socio-economic development is one of the breakthrough tasks of Tien Phuoc in recent times.

The District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 04, dated April 12, 2021, focusing on effectively implementing the Medium-term Public Investment Plan for the period 2021 - 2025, the program of building new rural areas, solidifying traffic; developing trade, services, tourism...

By focusing on building new rural areas, the district has received multi-faceted support from the Central and the province in terms of resources. Key public works have been opened.

Currently, Suoi Tho dam (Tien Phong) and Ho Khe dam (Tien Lanh) are under construction with an investment value of 150 billion VND/dam; in 2025, it will be Mo O dam with a cost of more than 200 billion VND.

These large irrigation works have the capacity to irrigate hundreds of hectares of gardens and fields. The regional connecting road through the communes of Tien Phong, Tien My, Tien Ky, Tien Canh, Tien Hiep with 21km is under construction and will be completed in 2025. Along with National Highway 40B, the regional connecting road will be one of two excellent "runways" for Tien Phuoc to "take off", connecting the regions more effectively.

- Sir, although Tien Phuoc is about to reach the NTM district finish line, it still faces many difficulties. So what should the locality do to achieve sustainability in socio-economic development?

* Mr. Pham Van Doc: In the middle of the 2020 - 2025 term, the District Party Committee assessed some low-achievement targets to have more effective directions to strive for. From there, we can see some challenges that Tien Phuoc needs to overcome, with many solutions to achieve the targets set by the District Party Congress.

Regarding poverty reduction, Tien Phuoc currently has about 600 poor households, accounting for 2.76%, of which 450 households are social protection beneficiaries, meaning there are still 150 poor households that need to be impacted to escape poverty sustainably in the coming time.

These poor households mostly have difficult lives that are difficult to overcome, so there must be support solutions that are close to their lives. At the same time, social resources will also be mobilized to accompany and help so that poor and disadvantaged households are not alone on the path to success.

In personnel work, the implementation plan for cadre rotation is still slow. The rate of village and residential block Party cells with Party committees and Party members in the village and residential block cadre team according to the spirit of Resolution 13-NQ/TU has not met the requirements set out.

In economic development, although the structure has shifted in the right direction, it is still slow. The construction of new rural areas in some communes has been achieved but is at risk of falling short of the criteria, the district level still has criteria that are close to achieving but have not yet achieved the targets set out in the Resolution, affecting the progress of building new rural districts. Therefore, the role and responsibility of the leader is very important in raising the determination to complete the biggest goal of Tien Phuoc achieving new rural district status by 2025.
