Awarding Certificates of Merit to 84 athletes with outstanding achievements

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy signed Decision No. 859/QD-BVHTTDL on awarding Certificates of Merit to individuals with outstanding achievements.

The decision signed on March 31 clearly stated that Certificates of Merit were awarded to 84 athletes and 23 coaches who had achieved outstanding results in international sports competitions. These included athletes and coaches in Tennis (1 athlete), Golf (3 athletes), Shooting (10 athletes, 3 coaches), Jujitsu (44 athletes, 15 coaches) and Handball (26 athletes, 5 coaches).

Notably, the list includes many athletes with excellent achievements who are key athletes of Vietnamese sports such as Trinh Thu Vinh, Pham Quang Huy (Shooting), Le Tien Anh (Tennis)...

At the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup held in Thailand last February, Vietnamese athletes performed excellently to win 4th place overall, winning 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. Shooters Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy brought home 1 gold medal in the mixed 10m air pistol event for men and women and silver medals in the individual event.

Meanwhile, the trio Ha Minh Thanh - Pham Quang Huy - Vu Tien Nam coordinated well, bringing home the gold medal in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol team event. Meanwhile, Ha Minh Thanh, Tran Cong Hieu and Phan Cong Minh won the highest position in the men's 25m standard pistol event.

Along with the above athletes, coaches Tran Quoc Cuong, Le Doan Cuong and Ho Thai Tam received certificates of merit for their contributions in coaching and directing the athletes to compete excellently and win medals.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Youth Jujitsu Team made an important highlight when they won 3rd place overall at the 2025 Asian Youth Jujitsu Championship in the U18 age group with 7 gold medals, 19 silver medals, and 30 bronze medals. In addition to the athletes receiving certificates of merit, the team and local coaches also received this honor.

The National Women's Beach Handball Team and the National Handball Team both won gold medals at the 2025 Southeast Asian Handball Championship held in Thailand last February. Coaches Nguyen Thanh Tung, Pham Duc Vuong, Vo Ngoc Hieu, Huynh Minh Ngon, and Hua Thi Thu Nga of the two teams were also on the list of recipients of certificates of merit.
