2025 National Pencak Silat Championship Kicks Off

The Organizing Committee presented souvenir flags to the athletes participating in the tournament.

Taking place from April 1 to 11, the 2025 National Pencak Silat Championship attracted more than 350 athletes from 29 localities to participate.

Athletes compete in two categories: Tanding (individual knockout competition, competing for first, second and two third prizes in weight categories under 45 kg to over 110 kg). Senni (form competition, awarding first, second and two third prizes in forms such as Tunggal, Ganda, Regu, Solo).

In the end, the Organizing Committee will award First, Second, and Third prizes to the teams with high achievements in the tournament.

The National Pencak Silat Championship is organized annually by the Department of Sports and Physical Training in coordination with localities, aiming to create opportunities for athletes to exchange, learn and improve their competition techniques; promote the movement of practicing and competing in Pencak Silat in localities.

The results of the athletes' performances at the tournament are the basis for experts to select talented faces to supplement the national team to participate in regional and international Pencak Silat competitions, preparing forces for international competitions and the SEA Games.

Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament Nguyen Duy Tu delivered the opening speech.

Currently, the Pencak Silat training movement in our country is developing, becoming a strength of Vietnamese sports in the regional and world arenas.

Many localities have paid attention and had strong development movements such as: Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang...

Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Duy Tu emphasized that the 2025 National Pencak Silat Championship is a major event, contributing significantly to promoting the image of Thanh Hoa land and people in general and the tourism image of Sam Son in particular; promoting the sports movement and the development of Pencak Silat.
