The entire Tri Ton district has 4,509 hectares of protective and special-use forests managed by the An Giang Provincial Protective and Special-Use Forest Management Board. In 2025, according to the forecast of the Central Hydrometeorological Center, the weather nationwide will continue to be hot and dry at high temperatures, with a high risk of explosions and forest fires. People going up to the mountains to farm, catch bees, etc., and being careless in using fire are the leading causes of forest fires.
To ensure fire prevention and fighting, the Management Board of Protective and Special-Use Forests of An Giang province has developed and implemented 3 plans for forest protection and fire prevention and fighting. Accordingly, 14 propaganda banners were hung and 55 fire ban signs were placed in areas with high fire risk. In addition, a 6.57ha patrol road was built, including: The road up to Hill 400 of Dai Mountain, from Tuc Dup Hill to Nam Hai Temple, Can Duoc Hill to Hill 400, Tan Tuyen Melaleuca Forest Landscape Protection Area. At the same time, equipment was arranged at 38 locations, including: 27 fire extinguishers, 5 blowers, 770 10-liter plastic cans. At the same time, 9 contracts for forest protection and forest fire prevention and fighting were implemented during the 4 months of the dry season.
Through the actual inspection, Tri Ton District Party Secretary Lam Thanh Si requested the Provincial Protection and Special-Use Forest Management Board to coordinate with communes and towns with forests to strengthen propaganda work to raise awareness of forest fire prevention and fighting for people with forest land about the use of fire. Regularly check the plans, as well as the arranged tools; set up zalo groups, phone numbers of forest fire prevention and fighting teams to inform and contact when necessary. In addition, strengthen patrol work to detect early and handle promptly. At the same time, provide a hotline number for people to immediately report to the authorities when detecting a fire.
