At the meeting, on behalf of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Kien Giang province, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province Nguyen Thanh Nhan wished the Deputy Governor, leaders of the Provincial City Hall, officials, armed forces, leaders of departments, branches and people of Kampot province a new year of good health, happiness, prosperity, and success in all assigned tasks.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province Nguyen Thanh Nhan expressed his appreciation for the precious sentiments of Kampot province for the delegation when they visited and wished the leaders and the Kampot Provincial City Hall a Happy New Year. This is a very meaningful annual activity, demonstrating the friendship and special sentiments that the leaders of Kien Giang and Kampot provinces have always had for each other over the years.
On this occasion, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan informed the Deputy Governor about some outstanding results on the socio-economic development situation of Kien Giang province in 2024.
In 2024, the socio-economic situation of Kien Giang province continues to develop quite comprehensively in all fields, achieving and exceeding the plan 24/24 targets. Notably, the growth rate reached 7.5%, exceeding the plan by 0.8%, ranking 4th out of 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and 30th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. Average income per capita reached 81.84 million VND/person/year; rice output reached 4.67 million tons; total number of tourists was over 9.8 million. People's lives were increasingly improved, the province's socio-economic aspects clearly developed.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang Province Nguyen Thanh Nhan emphasized that the friendly and cooperative relationship between Kien Giang Province and the provinces bordering Cambodia continues to be maintained and developed comprehensively in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, security, people-to-people exchange; searching and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia has achieved many important results.
From the dry season of 2024-2025 to now, the work of searching and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia in Kampot province has reached 9 remains. This is an important result to effectively promote the cooperation program between Kien Giang and Kampot provinces in 2025 and the following years.
In the coming time, Kien Giang province hopes that the two provinces will continue to promote exchanges, research and cooperation in areas of potential and strength, in accordance with the needs and interests of each side, in order to develop the two provinces quickly and sustainably, contributing to consolidating the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Mr. Khiev Rithiphorn - Deputy Governor of Kampot province highly appreciated the cooperation and support of Kien Giang province in the past time. The Deputy Governor expressed his hope that the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two provinces will continue to be maintained and developed comprehensively in the fields of economy, trade, agriculture, security, order, etc., contributing to the common development of the two localities and the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship.
