President hopes Chinese businesses continue to expand investment in Vietnam

On the afternoon of October 19, in Beijing, on the occasion of attending the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF), President Vo Van Thuong received leaders of several leading Chinese corporations.

* At the meeting with Mr. Luong Hoa, Chairman of Huawei Group, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that the digital transformation and digital economy in the world are developing very quickly. Along with the world trend, Vietnam attaches great importance to these contents and focuses on investing in digital transformation and building a digital economy.

Besides, Vietnam calls for cooperation from all parties, from government to private level, domestic and foreign investors to participate in building digital infrastructure, digital human resources and digital institutions.

The President said that on the positive development of Vietnam-China relations, Vietnam welcomes and hopes that more and more enterprises with economic potential and high development level will come to cooperate and invest in Vietnam, including Huawei.

At the same time, the President highly appreciated the results that Huawei has achieved in the investment process in Vietnam and hoped that Huawei would continue to cooperate more actively and effectively with Vietnamese authorities and enterprises to cooperate in building digital infrastructure, developing 5G, broadband and especially coordinating to train digital human resources.

Sincerely thanking President Vo Van Thuong for taking the time to meet him, Huawei Chairman Luong Hoa expressed his hope that with the support and trust of the Vietnamese government and relevant agencies, Huawei is ready to actively contribute to supporting the enhancement of Vietnam's digital competitiveness.

Along with that, the group wishes to contribute more to the development of Vietnam's digital economy, digital society and energy transition; helping Vietnam integrate advances in science and technology into the development of agriculture and manufacturing industry.

"The group is cooperating with a number of universities to train talents and Huawei is willing to cooperate with Vietnam in training digital human resources. Huawei continues to contribute values ​​to Vietnam's economic and social development," Mr. Luong Hoa emphasized.

As a leading global ICT infrastructure provider, Huawei has always focused on innovation and digital development in the ICT industry. In the coming time, the Group will increase investment to help Vietnam digitally transform towards multi-industry, diversity and balanced development.

* At the meeting with Mr. Ly Tu Hoc - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of Trung Hung Group (ZTE), President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated ZTE's business achievements and the results of ZTE's production and business cooperation in Vietnam.

ZTE is currently a major customer and partner for many Vietnamese telecommunications companies. According to President Vo Van Thuong, Vietnam attaches great importance to digital transformation and digital economic development.

Reiterating his speech at the third BRF, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized the need to call for national-level cooperation between governments and businesses in building digital institutions, digital infrastructure and digital human resources.

In that spirit, the President said that Vietnam hopes that Chinese enterprises, especially large enterprises with high scientific and technological level, will invest and expand investment in Vietnam, bringing modern and efficient technology and production lines to Vietnam.

President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the fact that Chinese investors have implemented more than 4,000 valid projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of more than 26 billion USD. Notably, in the first 9 months of 2023, for the first time, China became the second largest investor in Vietnam with a total registered capital of 2.9 billion USD.

The President believes: "ZTE will have closer and more effective cooperation with businesses in Vietnam in the future; contributing to the overall development of the Vietnam - China cooperative relationship".

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZTE Corporation Ly Tu Hoc expressed his pleasure to meet President Vo Van Thuong in Beijing; thanked relevant Vietnamese agencies for supporting ZTE in its investment, production and business activities in the S-shaped country over the past years.

Appreciating Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, Mr. Ly Tu Hoc said that ZTE was established in 1985 and is currently listed on the Hong Kong (China) and Shenzhen stock exchanges. Currently, ZTE is a large enterprise providing 5G equipment in China.

In addition, ZTE also builds and deploys a 5G technology application model. The Group has extensive experience in network development, system architecture, and application software design; wishes to contribute to the construction of digital infrastructure in Vietnam; thereby, strongly supporting the economic development process in Vietnam.
