Playing Tet in the Old Quarter, Hanoians check-in with old tram cars and 'golden teardrop' cub motorbikes

During the Tet holiday, in addition to drinking coffee on the train tracks, taking pictures of Hoan Kiem Lake and the cathedral, stopping by the Temple of Literature to ask for calligraphy, or going to the pagoda, Hanoians also have another interesting place to play Tet and check-in, which is Phung Hung street.

and has many attractive attractions and entertainment.

The Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam on the 3rd day of Tet is much more bustling than the 1st and 2nd days, because on the traditional "Teacher's Day", many students come to the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam to burn incense and pay tribute to their teachers, especially their teachers.

Come to Phung Hung street to celebrate the nostalgic Tet holiday with old tram cars and Dong Ho paintings.

This year Phung Hung street has

artwork

The public area has become an attractive Tet holiday spot for the capital's residents thanks to special designs for this street during the Tet At Ty season.

These are the three-entrance gates at both ends of the street with unique Dong Ho folk painting motifs at the two intersections of Phung Hung - Hang Luoc and Phung Hung - Le Van Linh.

And another highlight is the three old tram cars - the symbol of Hanoi in the 1970s - restored, placed at the beginning of the street at the intersection of Phung Hung - Le Van Linh.

Architect Vuong Dao Hoang, representing the design team to decorate Phung Hung Street for Tet At Ty, said: the image of the recreated train is not only a symbol of urban memories but also a metaphor for a time train, bringing us back to the past, where the nation's heritage and fine traditional values are preserved.

Since before Tet, this street has been bustling with Hanoians and tourists checking in with the memorable tram cars and the impressively designed triple gate.

During Tet, although there are no fresh flower vendors serving people taking pictures, there are stalls selling silk flowers and plastic souvenirs for people to rent to take pictures at the price of 50,000 VND/person.

And the " golden teardrop" cub

In addition, the public art works on this street are also very attractive to people to take pictures. Especially the installation of the Cub 81 "golden teardrop" motorbike plated in gold.

Enjoying the work, many parents let their children sit in the car to check-in.

At this public art street, many works are made for people to interact with, not "no touching" like the works in museums.

For example, the "photographic relief" work of a female street vendor with a missing face so that customers can put their own face in the photo, keeping the impressive photo for themselves.

After checking in at Phung Hung Street, spring visitors can also conveniently visit the old town with many open vermicelli soup shops, sit at a nearby train street cafe, or stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake, visit the Temple of Literature, and play.
