In contrast to previous years when goods prices tended to increase after Tet, this year, the market for goods after Tet is abundant in supply and has stable prices.
Abundant supply, many promotional programs are implemented
According to the reporter of Cong Thuong Newspaper, currently, at supermarkets and markets in Hanoi, the price of goods after Tet is stable and the supply is abundant. After the Lunar New Year holiday, consumer demand has not changed much. If before Tet, consumers focused on buying fresh food, dried food, and candies as gifts, then after Tet, people continue to choose these items to serve spring travel, go to the first temple of the year or worship the Full Moon of January.

Specifically, regarding market stabilization and Tet preparations, the Group has requested localities to proactively plan to implement the Market Stabilization Program and prepare goods for the end of the year, before, during and after Tet, especially essential goods. The timely management of the Domestic Market Management Group has contributed to ensuring supply and stabilizing the goods market.
Retail businesses increase scale expansion
The domestic market is identified as one of the extremely important factors contributing to macroeconomic growth. In that context, retail businesses also determined to continue expanding their distribution systems to seize market opportunities and increase retail sales of goods. Accordingly, a representative of WinMart supermarket shared that by 2025, WinMart/WinMart+/WiN will continue to promote its strategy of expanding scale and upgrading the system to better meet consumer needs. In the context of the increasingly competitive Vietnamese retail industry, this strategy not only helps the system consolidate its position but also affirms its commitment to accompany Vietnamese consumers on the journey to improve the quality of life.
Accordingly, the system aims to upgrade a series of existing WinMart supermarkets, and open hundreds of new WinMart+/WiN stores in many provinces and cities. In particular, new urban areas, developed residential areas, rural areas, and suburban areas will be the focus of the expansion plan, helping customers easily access quality products at stable prices every day.
Identifying Vietnam as the second most important market after Japan, AEON Group also determined to continue to promote investment in business activities here. Accordingly, AEON Vietnam's business policy focuses on increasing contact points and recognition with customers. Specifically, the enterprise will continue to expand its business network with diverse models, opening AEON Tan An Shopping Center (Long An) expected in August 2025; department stores and supermarkets; small and medium-sized supermarkets and specialty stores nationwide in 2025.
Affirming that the continued expansion of retail businesses in Vietnam is a positive sign, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Consumer Goods Development (VACOD) noted that businesses need to prioritize focusing on developing environmentally friendly production technology; digital transformation supports information search activities with high-quality products, reputable businesses, fast and effective management, operation, production, and service connection processes.
Notably, in the context of sustainable development being a trend, businesses need to increase and prioritize the use of environmentally friendly materials; proactively establish many alternative supply sources to ensure sustainability and reduce risks from monopoly or scarcity of raw materials.
In 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade strives for total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue to increase by 12%. Revenue from retail businesses will contribute greatly to this goal. |
