Previously, Mr. Nguyen Quang T. (residing in Tam Minh commune, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi), father of NML (16 years old), said that his son's admission to grade 10 at Victory Primary, Secondary and High School (Victory School), Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak province) was canceled because he was 2 days late in paying tuition.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang T., his son (NML) was a student at Victory School from grade 2 to grade 9. In 2024, L. took the entrance exam to grade 10 at Victory School and passed the first round of admission.
The school and the homeroom teacher announced that June 8, 2024 is the deadline for enrollment and tuition payment. "Due to work, the family was not able to pay the tuition as announced by the school. By June 10, when the family came to pay the tuition, the school had canceled the results," said Mr. T.
Mr. Nguyen Quang T. explained the late payment of tuition fees, saying that because his house was far from school, he called the school's phone number 0942194xxx to get his bank account information. However, there was not enough money in his account (tuition 3.7 million VND, food 800 thousand VND), so he paid late.
"My child's file has been at Victory School for 8 years now, he hasn't been withdrawn or moved anywhere, so why is the school acting like this? Just because he was 2 days late in paying his tuition, now they're disqualifying him," said Mr. T.
Mr. T. also wondered why Victory School requires advance payment every year before starting school, and if anyone transfers to another school, they will lose this payment?
Regarding the incident, NML said he was very disappointed and worried: "Now all schools have closed their applications. I wonder if I will be able to study at high school level?", L. said.

The school leadership affirmed that L.'s family did not contact the Admissions Council about the late submission.
It is worth mentioning that when answering the press, Mr. Nguyen Van Hien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Victory Primary, Secondary and High School, affirmed that he is only an investor.
Mr. Nguyen Hoa Nam, the school's principal, affirmed that this is a private school with 100% financial autonomy, so "If parents are late in paying tuition, their children will not be able to attend."
Regarding the above incident, on the afternoon of June 21, Mr. Pham Dang Khoa, Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that he had received information that Victory Primary, Secondary and High School (non-public school type - PV) canceled the 10th grade admission results for the 2024-2025 school year for student NML (born in 2009).
"The Department has assigned the professional department to request the school to report and explain the incident in order to have a specific assessment and inform the press," said Mr. Pham Dang Khoa.
According to a leader of the Department of Secondary Education - Continuing Education, implementing the direction of the leader of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, the Principal of Victory Primary, Secondary and High School has been asked to fully report the incident. On that basis, the Department of Education and Training will advise the leader of the Department of Education and Training to continue directing.
